Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. That means the control sensed that the heater in the D/W did not operate 3 times in a row. So the unit locks out. First remove the kick plate and you may have to pull the unit out from under the cab, but check your heater. Use a meter to see if it reads open; if so orders a heater assay it will come with a new control replace it to. If your heater checks good press in sequence normal wash, heat dry, normal wash, heat dry, normal wash, heat dry three times within 6 sec all the lights will come on then hit cancel. What that did is reset the control and clear that fault. Keep in mind that D/W does not heat its own water your incoming water temp should be 120. The D/W will maintain that temp. When starting your D/W first turn on your hot water till it gets hot then start your D/W this insures your unit fills with hot water and not cold. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Thank God for smart people and information on the internet!!! We just moved into...

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers. The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval (this time may differ between models). There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher. This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence. Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot.

Kenmore Ultra Wash 665 dishwasher: start button not lighing

It sounds like you have a bad control console, and the problem is that your START button (the most critical one!) is bad. You can't replace just that button or key; you have to replace the entire control console.

Well, Larry, it sounds as if you've tried just about everything.... except replacing the control console (with keypad), and if everything else is okay, then that is PROBABLY your problem.

Try resetting it. Locate the switch in your breaker box, and flip it off- then on again. Hope that works!

Try this solution first
Push the Hi-temp and then push the Sani-rinse. Go back and forth multiple times on these two buttons. I found that after a handfull of pushes that a "1" came up on the display. I continued to keep rotating the two buttons and then a "2" came up on the display and the dishwater started it's "drain" phase. I then hit cancel to clear and then I selected the cycle I wanted. The washer started up just as normal at this point.

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher - Blinking Quick Rinse Light

I had the same flashing light problem first the normal wash flashing light then the others. I tried shuting of the breakers but nothing. I tried resetting the panel by pushing normal wash and heated dry simultaneously and nothing. So I took the six screws holding the front panel out and unplugged the ribbon type wires and plug and unplugged it several times to help make a better contact and I was able to get it to work right away. This may not work for all but I worked for me. It is very easy to do and it's worth a try if you're having the same problem. It took me less then 10 minutes.

Clean light flashs seven times, stops and then does the same over again.

bellman, on this model I believe you can clear the fault by pressing high temp scrub--air dry--high temp scrub--air dry in that order. Your normal cycle on this dishwasher is approx 97 minutes without the thermal holds, (pauses to heat the water to proper temps.) So of course it's going to go over 97 minutes. This is for heavy soil. Light soil, approx 89 minutes. Some models have a soil sensor, some don't. If the sensor is out of specs..it could add to long wash times. The heater may in fact be the problem, he needs to check it. The heater runs through the nuetral side of the door switch so you want to make sure the switch is closing and the dishwasher is level and secure. He also wants to check out the resistance of the thermistor, should read 48 to 52K ohms at aprox. 75 degrees. Catriver..post back.

ga, behind the toe panel on the bottom there should be a tech sheet explaining how to put the dishwasher in the test mode. See if you can enter the test mode. If you can't, you probably have a stuck or shorted keypad. Catriver...post back
