Check in the section labeled for DVD. It will say LFE out, or subwoofer out.

Don't know how to wire a kicker solo-baric L7 2 ohm dual voice coil 12 inch sub

Wire in series for 4R. +ve of coil to amp +ve. -ve of that coil to +ve of second coil and the -ve of the second coil goes to -ve of amp.

I have a 1000 w dual coil and a 1000 w amp do I just hook them up positive and negative just how they are both sides just how I think it would

Hello
In most speakers, either (+ve) or (-- Ve) will be mared on its soder leads. If there is no such markings, just look whether there is a red or black spot of paint. If there it is, red colour paint mark terminal side is (+ve) and black marked terminal side is (-- ve). If there is no such markings also, take a torch cell [ a new one], contact its positive side to one terminal of the speaker, and its negative to other terminal win a piece of wire. Just touch once. Look the movement of the cone paper. For one side connection the cone paper will push out and for the reverse it will be drawn in. Note the position when the cone paper pushes out. Now note which terminal is connected with battery positive. This terminal is the positive connection terminal of the speaker. OK

Hello. My ve 28s crackles when in standby mode, and also plays crackly bass. Please help me by telling me which component to replace within the amp. as I have no Cerwin Vega agent support here in South...

Hi,
This "Crackling" Problem is common with the Cerwin Vega VE-28S Subwoofer. If your subwoofer is out of warranty, and you know how to solder, you can fix the problem by replacing a few resistors, and transistors inside the amplifier. Get the parts on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/250756306868/

Crackles and pops, even in standby mode

Does it only pop and crack when its connected to your amp or receiver ? i have the same thing with my sub [its not cerwin vega] but when i turn my amp off the sub doesnt pop anymore so i think my amp is the problem not the sub , yours might be the same problem .

Subs

Hi,

First of all you need to check if your amp can support this type of speaker setup? If you are simply going to wire 2 subs up to the amp (assuming a 2 channel amp) it's pretty simple. Just connect the + & - cables to one channel of the amp & the other ends of the cable to the sub, making sure that they are the correct polarity on both sides (ie speaker & on the amp).
If on the other hand you want to 'daisy chain' the subs onto one channel of the amp (this effectively drops the load down to half that of the speakers (usually 2 Ohm)), then you do as the name suggests. Simple connect one speaker cable to the amps channel 1 + ve output to subs_1 +ve input. Then from sub_1 -ve connector to subs_2 +ve. This leaves you with only 1 more to connect sub_2 -ve back to amp channel 1 -ve.

NOTE: make sure that your amp can support this first! If it can't then it's will auto switch off in most cases but can also damage the amp if there is no fail safe circuit built in.

Cerwin Vega ve-28s subwoofer and new Cervin Vega 2-way satellites

I bought my VE-28s and it did exactly that crackled, cerwin replaced part in amp but few months later problem persisted. they then replaced entire amp assembly and its been fine. i really push it to and its been fine. to test it, unplug the connection from amp/ reciever and see if it persists. if so its the sub, if not its the amp/ reciever. dont dump it, these subs really crank and can put out some deep loud bass.
