Tearing down the laptop is a major undertaking, you can take a vacuum cleaner with theat flat tube attachment or you can plug off the end of the vacuum tube with duct tape and tape a 3 ft length of surgical tubing taped to the inside of the hose. You can snake the hose into the exhaust vent and see how much that gets......But, it most likely is not that affected by dust, unless you run your laptop outside next to a dirt road all day...
You may be running too many programs in the background which can heat up
a processor pretty well. You may also have a virus which overtaxes a
processor. Also, always make sure that the heat vent in the back of the
pc is well vented and not obstructed, and NEVER have the pc placed on
something like a bed, blanket, or pillow
    OK, Do this;
    These are
the steps that you need to take, and the instructions on how to do it:
    1.
    Reboot into Safemode
    2. Run a virus and spyware scanner while in
    safemode
    3. Defrag
    4. Scandisk
    5. Registry error repairing
    while in safemode
    6.Reboot into regular mode windows

    Here is
    how to do it:
Reboot yor machine while holding the F8 key right as it
boots back up. A menu will apear. Choose -->"start windows in safe
    mode with networking".
Windows will start in safe mode. Run an AVG
virus scan, then run Defrag by exploring your computer, right click on
C: drive, click PROPERTIES, then the TOOLS tab, click the "check now"
button, and only checkmark the top box 'fix file system errors', then
click ok, the computer will then tell you it will scan upon next
reboot., Now click the DEFRAG NOW button. the choose defrag. After
Defrag runs for about an hour and it is finished, restart the system. If
is still won't run normally, go back into Safemode buy pressing F8 on
reboot, then run a registry fixing program such as uniblue
registrybooster, then reboot again. If it still won't run right, you may
want to reinstall Windows and see if that works. If reinstalling
windows doesn't fix it, it may be a hardware problem.
    PRINT THESE
INSTRUCTIONS AND KEEP A COPY NEAR YOUR SYSTEM FOR FUTURE PROBLEMS. THIS
SERIES OF STEPS CAN FIX MANY PROBLEMS
    Good luck.

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD as it's pretty hard to open it up and reach for the CMOS battery which is connected through a small jack on this model or the jumper.

Bios password for acer travelmate 2410

there is no default password on acer systems as supposedly there is in dell's

now a good news bad news situation...

in more recent times they switched how the bios stored the bios password. In the past you can could reset it by remocing a cmos battery (small watch type of battery) from the motherboard for like 30 minutes and then enter the bios setup upon the next bootup.

However now some how gone to a 'security chip' a programable EEPROM chip to store the passwords and if so it's required to be shipped back to acer to be fixed and from what I know is not covered by warranty. If this is the case AND ... I say again AND IF it's STILL UNDER WARRANTY (this is completely not a reflection on fixya, it's affiliaties or my self and should be taken at your own risk, liability, and care) you can take out your hard drive and expose the laptop (not the hard drive) it to an electrical current and then contact acer stating it's not working suddenly and need to fixed. take out the hard drive then put on some wool socks run your feet on the floor and when the laptop in on and powered up touch it should do nicely. This of course is to be taken as entertainment and is in no way endoresed by myself or fixya or any of us affiliates or advertisers.
