Format the drive, then RE-install an operating system such as xp, or windows 7 .... it should install most of the correct drivers. You may have to go to the manufactures website to find the exact drivers for the video and sound cardsACER ASPIRE ONE NET BOOK. HOW DO I RESTORE THE - 2_bing.gif., but that should pretty much return it to factory settings. If you are really picky and have the bucks, you can contact ACER for the original disks.
Good luck.

Restore Acer aspire laptops to English factory settings

If you click onto the "Start" and then go into Programmes, you should see at the top "Acer" click on this, and you can reset the Net-book to it`s original factory settings, or choose the other options. This is the manufactures settings, where it was made. Not quite sure what you mean by English factory settings? Good luck

I DONT KNOW HOW TO RESTORE MY ACER BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop. A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop. It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature. You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard. Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.

Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives. Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive. Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook. Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen. The recovery menu will load. Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options. Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings. Follow the instructions on the screen. Choose your time zone and language when the customization menu appears. Reboot the netbook when you are prompted. Restore your saved files from the flash drive.

Hi dustinwilkin From http://www.geekpolice.net/t7449-acer-system-recovery-partition-hotkey-instructions-erecovery : To access the recovery partition on your Acer computer for recovery, follow the steps listed below.

1. Power on the computer
2. At the white ACER BIOS screen, hold the Alt key and press the F10 key simultaneously to start Acer eRecovery.
3. Once eRecovery has loaded, click Restore to Factory Default Settings
4. Click OK to continue
5. From here, the eRecovery process will update all the data on the C: drive and restore a fully functional factory image (approximately 10 minutes).
6. Once eRecovery has run, press OK to reboot unit

I'm trying to reboot my netbook to factory setting what to do?

Well first of all Net books are kind of tricky because you have not DVD drive so most are loaded with a hidden factory partition in it, the commands to recover your net book are ALT F10 but if you are running vista or win 7 start the machine and during start of strike the f8 button this will boot you into the advance start up menu, choose repair my computer after that you will get a list of recovery tools. choose factory restore out of box or something to that affect. If your recovery partition is still intact the net book should start the process of re installing windows and all your drivers to out of the box condition. For XP users restart the net book and during the splash screen hit ALT and F10 at the same times several times and that will automatically invoke the recovery partition. . Hope this helps.
