How do I get rid of the blue box on the TV (a ViewSonic 37" flatscreen) ?

Hi red recruite,
I am happy to help.
The blue box is the Picture in Picture function. Press the PIP button on remote till gone.
The No Entry Sign on the inputs is because nothing is connected to these inputs.
Unless  I an mistaken you have only a HDMI cable connected.

I have this model N3735w Viewsonic LCD flatscreen TV and it is flickering. The screen is also getting darker.
Try turning off the automatic brightness feature . This mode adjusts the brightness according to the light level in the room.

When i switch on my baird 37 inch flatscreen the screen is bright blue
The blue screen usually means no signal of any kind--check connections.

Also look to see if a DVD etc. connected to a rear audio/video input works or not--this will narrow down the area where the issue is.

What are the outsode dimensions of N3735W 37" TV
The physical dimensions of the TV itself: With Stand 37.0"x 28.6"x 11.6" (941mmx726mmx295mm)
Without Stand 37.0"x 25.8"x 5.5" (941mmx655mmx139mm)

When in the box with the stand the entire unit weighs 71.9 pounds.
