Question about Lexmark X4270 All-In-One InkJet Printer
The error means that the cartridge carrier can not move freely. This can happen if the cartridges are not correctly seated, the encoder strip is out of place or there is a foreign object blocking the path.
First check that the cartridges are properly seated and locked into place. If that doesn't help, then remove the cartridges. Move the cartridge carrier belt (black) to the left. Push the encoder strip down and then up to get it into the slot on the back of the carrier. If needed move it forward and then back to slide into place. Reinsert the cartridges and move the carrier back to the right.
Next gently move the cartridge carrier belt left and right listening for any rattling or other sounds of a foreign object. Remove anything that doesn't belong in the unit.
If none of the steps help, contact Lexmark.

I hope this helps.
