Re: Acer 3610 laptop
Well you have many problems at the moment ,but my first efforts would be to run anti spy ware and anti virus program as they can do strange things to a computer, you can get both free from GRISOFT "AVG"
another option is to use the recovery disc's to re-install all the software back to the factory settings,as this will install all the drivers again for your sound & wifi and everything else.
Well try doing going on safemode and do a virus check. Also, the running of programs when the computer starts could cause it to go slow.Run<msconfig<Startup and pick the stuff that you want when the computer starts up :)

How far does it get in booting. Do you see the Windows screen with the side scrolling bar before it reboots. During the boot process, start hitting the F8 key once a second until it drops you into a menu where you can select to start in Windows with safe mode. If you cant get that far, hit the DEL key a few times a soon as you boot the computer to try to go into your BIOS. If you can get into either of these, I may be able to help you.
1. Ensure you have the webcam driver installed. 2. Install webcam application i.e Cyberlink Youcam. Check this link up to download: http://download.cyberlink.com/ftpdload/trial/YouCam/3/CyberLink.1811_Trial_YUC090203-06.exe
ok, what i would suggest is you download this file called combofix from the link below. This is a good software to remove viruses and trajans and also fixes issues with the registry for windows. You might want to restart your pc if it doesn;t do it for you once it is completed.
Please let me know if this works or not. Visruses can be nasty and should be taken care of immediatly
What must be happening is there are programmes and services running in the back ground and depending on how much memory you have installed all these things take up memory allocations.
The graphics card when running just minimal programmes like word run at 8MB memory but when running games or dvd the card can run at 64MB of memory so take that off 256MB ogf memory if thats what you have fitted, minus the memory your programmes and services take it doesn't leave much.
added with a processor speed of around 1.5GHZ it can make the system slow up if doing more than one thing at a time.
Also check back to when this started and go to system restore and look to when it roughly started and see if windows did any updates, if so restore to before the update and see if it still happens.
