Hello.
I guess that you have cd utilities of your sound blaster. if you have then you can directly insert the cd and then install the driver.

if you don't have then you can directly download the driver here. http://asia.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=1&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP&region=2&Product_Name=Live%21+5.1&Product_ID=50&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=1&x=24&y=7

Since you haven't mentioned the make of the laptop. So, I would request you to please let me know the make of the laptop so that I can provide you with the drivers for the same.

If you are planning to get a sound device hardware like a PCI card you can choose CMI8738 audio PCI Audio Device may suffice your needs.

If built in on your motherboard use your motherboard installer or manually go to sound device folder to install the driver.

If you don't have the motherboard installer, try its manufacturer's site then choose the exact model number and version, to get the right driver.

NO SOUND

I had the same problem with a full reinstall of XP. Follow the link below to download the UAA protocol, install it and XP should then install the drivers for your sound card. If it does not install, go to Windows update, it will provide a driver under the hardware category.

You should install the Chips drivers or intall all the driver in series listed in your CD Utilities. Its good if you download the latest drivers of your system at www.asus.com or here: http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

You should download for 64x2 drivers.
