Nexxtech DVD Player PDN-0707 Battery does not charge

I got this unit out of the box and pluged it in only to find it does not charge. I tried the charger in the player alone and that worked so I know it is not the charger. How can I get a replacement battery since it was purchased on the internet and is not returnable.

I searched on some various battery websites and none of them carried Nexxtech batteries. It's possible they do carry a compatible battery, but under a different manufacturer's name (like Sanyo or Samsung). If you haven't already, try searching the web for the model number of the battery itself.

It's also possible that you could give your story to the Nexxtech tech support (aka Circuit City) and see if you could weasel a free battery out of them. Tell them you got it as a gift or something :). 1-888-319-9464.

I wish I could offer more options, but Nexxtech is not a large enough brand for there to be a big enough pool of replacement parts floating around.

Then again, there's always eBay.....

That no one answers any questions posted here. i have another one?

We hate to be accused of not aswering any questions posted here but we're too busy answering questions posted here to defend ourselves. Anyway, Portable DVD players tend to be subject to early failure because the design is simply not rugged enough to withstand prolonged use. My Insignia player lasted for only 3 or 4 sessions and then failed completely. Maybe one of the other specialists on this site can provide some specifics about Nexxtech players

Frayed wire???

See my other posting. I doubt it's your power cord at all. These units are notorious for this. Do a 'google' search on them and see what I mean. I can only reccomend that you invest in some research before buying another one. Price is NOT everything! It ain't a bargin if it's worthless! (Or: Paying anything, however little, is TOO much for something worth nothing) I will canabolize mine for the screen. I paid $20.00 for it at Goodwill. I know how to do this, but I realize most folks don't, or do not have the time, nor inclination to do so. I'm disabled, so time I have, money I don't.

Supersonic SC-299TDVD

Battery back needs to be connected to the DVD player when charging. connect the batter pack to player. Run the DC/out from the battery pack to the DC/in in the player. plug the charger into the wall.

if that does not work, you have a bad battery
