Question about Dyson DC07 Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum

1 Answer

DYson DC07 not sucking properly when in upright mode. I have tried cleaning out pipes etc and even tried an old motor section I had in garage (replaced once under warranty as kept cutting out and they left old motor section here). Even the old motor section had same prob so this suggests its something in the rest of the vacuum cleaner (whats left after you have lifted off the green motor section and dust collection area if you see what I mean? Any advice weclome please.

Brush is snot spinning and vacuum is not sucking dirt.

if the motor spins and the brush does not, you need to check the drive belt.
under the hoover are 3 or 4 large plastic 1/4 turn fasteners holding the bottomcover on. remove the cover and you will see the drive belt. replacements are readily available in hardware stores or ebay.
if the vacuum still does not pick up when the brush is spinning, check and clean the filters and make sure the pipes are connected properly and not blocked.

Dyson DC07 bagless - upright mode v poor suction, wand mode ok

Hi its Darran at Dyson.

From your description of the problem, it sounds as though the bleed valve is activating which only happens when there is a blockage.

We would recommend following the full blockage through as outlined in your user guide or in the Support section on our website at www.dyson.com.

Kind regards
Darran

It might be a simple as changing the clutch belt and the drive belt and cleaning out the brush roll. You can get replacement belts here:

Poor pick up & suction

yes the flapping noise that you hear is the wire on the motor brushes that has protruded through the brush and touched the motor through wear and usually when this happens it destroys the motor and will need a replacement I have the same problem The motor is £42 and the brushes are £8 you also need a special long star screwdriver to access the motor this is a way of making you have it repaired at a dyson shop and pay about £70 labour a rip off or what? I can do the job in 20 mins so why the high price for labour
