This model dryer has a square opening above the drum for a lamp which you do not have on this model. If its not covered items very small will collect inside of it although ten socks are highly unlikely I think

I ran the dryer without the lint screen and am now 'missing' some socks. The dryer makes a rumbling noise. How do I get the socks out and did I break something

you better inspect inside the exhaust vent tubes for the socks. You did not break anything but they might start on fire later. You to take off the back of the dryer to take the vents apart.

Losing small socks, ect in washing machine

Losing small socks or items of clothing in your washing machine can end up as a costly repair. This can be avoided especilly when washing baby socks ect by placing items that are very small inside a pillow case and using a rubber band to place around the top.Less chance of damage to machine, and less odd socks comming out of machine.

Kitchenaid KAWS700G will fill and wash but won't drain and spin

My washer also did not drain. I disconnected the power supply and water hoses and the drain hose and lay the machine on its side.. The motor is at the bottom. Once I disconnected the hose and put my finger to look inside. There is a rubber stopper and once I moved that aside and looked inside I found my baby sock stuck in the the pump. Once I gently pulled the sock out It came out easily. Lucky me the motor is in working condition.
My washing machine was manufactured I believe in 1997.

This is the first time ever took look under any washing machine.
Best of luck!

One of my bra wires has got stuck inside my drum i need to get it out

A pair of pliers will take it out...the bra has to be sacrificed I'm sure.
There are "mesh bags" made for washing bras, stocking and socks.
These mesh bags save you from losing clothing articles and an expensive repair guy bill.

Every time my washer gets to the spinning cycle it makes a screeching noise. Wondering if there was a solution.

Almost sure it's a sock inside the drummer.
Must call a technician.
And in the future, use a bag to socks ;)

Machine will not empty water, new pump installed today still no joy any ideas

Whether a front loader or a top loader, you are probably missing a sock. My guess being a sock or similar sized article has escaped the tub and is obstructing the water discharge to the pump. How to get to it depends on the top loader/front loader/make/model thing.

Missing sock in Maytag Atlantis

it's a possibility that the socks have gone under the agitator but unlikely that they have disappeared alltogether. You can remove the agitator to see if they are there. Tha'ts the best I can tell ya Good Luck

I took lint filter out to clean it and forgot to put it back in, I started gas dryer and it stopped, I believe there is a sock stuck in there somewhere. Does the front come off and what do I need to take...

Hello Kims987K,
You may want to check circuit breakers in your Breaker Panel to see if the one for your Dryer is tripped, and reset it if it is. Even though you have a Gas Dryer the Drum still operates on electricity, so without it the Dryer wouldn't function at all.
I don't think that the sock is stopping your Dryer, as the lint filter just filters lint from your Dryer's exhaust. So, even with the lint filter out a sock couldn't fit through the small holes in the drum that ventilate it (that's how the lint gets to the filter). I guess there could be a switch that detects whether the filter is in the machine and cut it off though, so you may try to re seat the lint filter (replace the lint screen/filter making sure it's in all the way), and try to start it again. If you look inside the Drum and see any way that a sock or anything else could get out other than through the door opening? That would be a problem.
If the filter was missing for several loads of laundry? Then you could have a restriction in the exhaust causing a thermal overload circuit to cut it off too (prevents the Dryer from catching fire). Does the light come on in the Dryer when you open the door?
From the information you posted, all I got is that it's a Gas Dryer that won't run and you appear to be missing a sock, so more detailed information will probably help in finding your solution.
I'll check back, and Good Luck finding that sock.

Elastic eating front load washer

Check the inside drum vanes. Sometimes the vanes may crack and grab certain items.Next check the front of the drum and tub for any loose items like wires from bras or curtains sometimes these may get stuck in the drum or vane and cause this problem. Also check your soap make sure there is not alot of suds this is my number one problem with these machines.H.E. soap is best but watch liquid tide it's been sudsing alot.
