My 2-year-old son was playing with our television remote control for our JVC AV-48P575 tv and somehow turned off the sound, while my mom was babysitting. I have tried to get the sound back but have no idea what to do and have no clue how my son managed to turn it off. We still have a picture and have checked the volume level and ensured the television is not on mute. 
If anyone can help, I'd be most grateful!

Oh, I should also mention that the volume does work when we are watching a DVD. It just does not work when we are watching regular television.

i have a magnavox ptv730-ah01. it has no sound.all i did was move from one side of the to another

I called JVC technical support and they helped me solve the problem. I had to scroll through the menu and make sure one of the channel functions which controls the noise was off. It had been on and telling the television that I would be routing all noise through a home theatre system.
