Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Front panel The front panel including the door has become detached at parts from the rest of the machine. The spin cycle is insane--the machine shakes like crazy. When the repair man came out when we first bought it - he made a joke about it and said that's just how it is. Now the machine is all torked.

Your repairman could have been a little more tactful, or explained the issue with these front loaders a little more clear for you. However, he may be correct.

Some questions you may ask yourself:

Where is your washer currently installed?

Did you properly level the feet of the washer when you installed it?

Have any of the shock mounts inside the washer under the tub become dislodged or broken?

Is the flooring in your home substantial enough to handle the weight and spinning action of a front loader?

The following link can give you some things to consider when trying to figure out what may be causing excessive vibration:

You may not like hearing some of this, but I can assure you, I have dealt with this problem numerous times. In the majority of cases, non-substantial flooring was causing the problem.

Read through the link provided and let me know if you have any questions. I hope you find the information helpful in some way.

How can we fix the vitiation, noise, and movement on a front loader that was just moved to another home?

These units spin at a high RPM. With just a few clothes, especially jeans and sweat items, the drum is off balance and therefore will have the above symptoms. These newer units weren't designed to run just a few items. It's a full load or nothing. It's an energy conservation thing.

Remove the front panel, then look at the motor to see what codes the motor is flashing. There should be a green light on the motor that will be flashing. Post back your findings.

Drum knock when spin cycle

Hello.
Noises are common when using a two-in-one washer and dryer, as clicking or whirring is part of the cleaning process during the transition to the next cleaning process. The GE Spacesaver washer and dryer combo uses a top-loading washer stacked beneath the front-loading dryer, and uses an agitator that makes noises throughout the spin cycle. Although whirring or clicking is normal, other noises or malfunction indicates a problem with the washer that requires minor troubleshooting. Professional repair is necessary if the washer continues to experience problems during the spin cycle, as there may be a problem with the washer's agitator.
1 Open the washer's door and check the balance of the load's clothes. Clothes that are unevenly distributed around the agitator cause excessive shaking and result in an imbalance during the spin cycle. Reduce the load's size by removing clothing if the washer's drum is overloaded.
2 Push "Start/Pause" to pause the spin cycle and turn the washer's cycle knob to the "Off" position. Turn the knob to "Spin Only" and press "Start/Pause" to reset the cycle.
3 Turn the wrench counterclockwise or clockwise around the unit's legs to adjust the appliance's balance. The legs are adjustable with the help of a wrench to ensure the unit does not shake while in use. An unleveled unit shakes as it spins, and causes excessive squealing or rattling as it attempts to dry the clothes.
4 Touch "Start/Pause" on the front of the washer's control panel and unplug the washer/dryer unit's power cord from the electric oultlet. Wait two minutes and plug the power cord back into the electric outlet. Push "Start/Pause" to resume the spin cycle.
Thanks.

I have a GE Front load washer model # WHDVH660HWW. Everytime it goes into spin cycle the machine vibrates/shakes and it keeps stopping and then tries to reset. Eventually shutsdown. I ahve to open door...

Sounds like one of the internal suspension/dampening units for the drum unit has broken or become unattached. Am not certain what this machine has but removal of top and rear cover should allow you to inspect the items and arrange replacement as required.

I have a frigidaire affinity front loader washer that the final spin cycle won't work on. The rest of the wash cycle is fine and the basket spins for the other cycles just not the spin cycle. It is also...

There is an auxiliary switch in the door lock and switch assembly that is activated at the end of the wash cycle for the machine to advance to the spin cycle. This is a safety feature to prevent the door from opening during the spin cycle and the machine will not spin unless the switch is activated. The machine works except advancing to the spin cycle and this signifies that the auxiliary switch cannot be activated and the door lock and switch assembly is faulty. Replaced the door lock and switch assembly (part #131763202) to address the issue.

Disconnect power to the machine. Open the washer door then look for the retaining hoop securing the door seal around the lip of the door opening. Stretch the retainer spring of the door seal retaining hoop then remove it.

Carefully peel off part of the door seal from the lip of the door opening near the door lock and switch assembly. Remove enough of the door seal to gain access to the door lock and switch assembly.

Remove the screws securing the door lock and switch assembly to the front panel. Once the screws are removed, lift the door lock and switch assembly then pull it away from the front panel.

Take the door lock and switch assembly out of the machine. Disconnect the electrical connections then connect it to the new door lock and switch assembly.

Put the new door lock and switch assembly back into position in the front panel and secure it with the securing screws.

Properly put the eased part of the door seal back over the lip of the door opening then secure it with the retaining hoop.

The drum shakes violently and is very loud during spin cycle

There are 2 shock absorbers/springs attached to the drum. If one of them breaks it will cause a loud banging noise when you wash heavy loads. This is an easy fix. The part is about $22.00 and it is accessed throught the front bottom panel.

Rattling noise during spin cycle

Most noises from a washing machine occur during the spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.

Indesit w123 shaking

I had the same problem the drum when in spin cycle with the machine almost walked out the door shaking violently as if it was possessed. Check the drum on the inside of machine as most times it has some kind of screw to hold it in place for transporting etc. I did find on the other cycles it worked fine except for the spin cycle, and l have this machine in my caravan near my bed so you can imagine the ferocious noise and how scary it was, and it was a simple error on our behalf. I hope this resolves your problem. Kind Regards Karen.
