The ink has probably gelled (become solid) in the nozzle. You can try cleaning the print head and cartridges manually. Remove the cartridges from the unit and wipe with a damp paper towel (dampen with water). With the bar code facing you, wipe the bottom of the cartridge horizontally, moving the towel only from left to right. This is where the ink comes out. Continue until it looks clean. Then dab the cartridge on the towel to see if ink comes out.

With a damp cotton swab, also clean the bottom of the shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier where the cartridge fits into the printer. This may take multiple swabs.

Reinstall the cartridges and follow the usual procedures. If the cartridge didn't come clean with wiping, you can build a declogging tool with a syringe (no needle) and a very narrow diameter piece of tubing. Cut a short length, place the tubing against the holes in the cartridge nozzle and pull back on the plunger. (This has to be done carefully to avoid damaging the print head.) Look online for information on the syringe and tubing size - it will depend a bit on the cartridge hole size.

Final option - new cartridge.

I hope this helps.

Ink absorber full

Well, almost :)

The waste ink absorber takes in the ink when the nozzles are cleaned, and it is planned for a certain capacity. The counter keeps track of the amount of ink that went into it, and stops the machine from further printing when a limit is reached. This is, in theory, to protect the customer from waste ink overflowing and spilling onto whatever the printer stands on (like an antique desk for example).

The price for replacing it by authorized service and resetting the counter is usually so high, that indeed it makes more sense to purchase a "new improved" printer...

If you want, you can try resetting the counter yourself - there are plenty of instructions on the web, like here for example:

Yellow full but it will not print

Take all the cartridges out. Get a wet tissue paper or better still a 'moist wipe' put it on a plate stand the cartridges on Does the print head come off on this model? If so do that same with the print head. Always print something in Full colour at lease once a week. If you are unable to do this then take the cartridges out put them in a plastic bag with damp tissue to stop them drying out and store in a cool place Also go to www.fixyourownprinter.com
