    Hey Buddy,
Thanks for the help, but none of those were it.
    - "hat" is all the way down and has full range of motion.
    - H2O is On
    - No blinking lights. All lights come on when buttons are pushed except "High Temp Wash" light under the "Options" section.
    - Not sure what you meant with the 3 second suggestion - I close the door all the way, then hit start.

Thanks again - what might be the next area to look in?

I can't start the cycle to see if it kicks on because the "Start Button" won't work.

Any other way to tell if it's the valve?

If it's not the valve, what next?

Hi,

Here are couple things that might help, let me know if they do or not.

-The door must be closed within 3 seconds of pushing the start button.

-There is a part in the right front corner of the tub that you should be able to see with the lower rack out, it looks like a hat. This is the float, it will not let water enter the machine if it is stuck up, look to see if something has fallen under it. It should move up and down about 1/4" freely.

- Make sure someone has not turned the water off to the dishwasher, the valve is usually under the kitchen sink

If these do not help let me know if you have any blinking lights when you push a button or try to start it.

It sounds like you may have a bad water inlet valve, it is located under the dishwasher near the left front, semi accessible with the toe panel taken off.

To be sure start the cycle and let it sit for about 5 minutes, if you hear the main motor come on but no washing we most likely just have a water inlet problem

Hey sorry about that, I read what you said but misunderstood, I was thinking the unit would start but nothing happening. my bad.

If the start button does not do anything but you still have power (as indicated by other lights on), The problem would be in the active overlay which is just a fancy name for the button pad. The pad is either not sending a signal to the board or the ribbon cable between the pad and control is broken, If you turn the breaker off or unplug the dishwasher, open the door and remove the screws along the top and the two just down from the top on in the inner door liner, this will allow you to pull the console off and you will see the ribbon cable between the two, make sure it is plugged in to the control tight. If all is good there the console assembly will have to be replaced.

Motor keeps running. Water heats fine. Help

One of the reasons for motor not draining during normal cycle is the check valve is stuck. It is meant to return to normal during drain cycle but close during wash. I think the cancel is resetting it and letting water out.

My Bosch dishwasher is driving me crazy! When it finishes a wash cycle it beeps twice every 10 minutes until the door is opened. We can't run the dishwasher at night after dinner unless we're SURE we...

Hello there,

It would help to know the model number of the dishwasher, but on many Bosch dishwashers, you can switch the cycle cycle completion signal off as follows:

1. While holding the right-hand CANCEL/DRAIN button, also press and hold the ON/OFF button
2. When the LED above the CANCEL/DRAIN button illuminates and the beeping starts, release both buttons
3. Press the right CANCEL/DRAIN button repeatedly until the beeping tone is at the desired volume, i.e. silent!
4. Press the "ON/OFF" button again to set the volume.

On models with the wash cycle buttons on the top edge of the door, the CANCEL/DRAIN buttons aren't always explicitly labelled CANCEL/DRAIN. These buttons are also labelled RESET on some models.

On models with 3 and 4 wash cycle buttons, the right CANCEL/DRAIN button is the third button when reading from left to right. On models with 5 wash cycle buttons, the right CANCEL/DRAIN button is the fourth button when reading from left to right.

Please try the above then let me know if you need further assistance. Please state the model number or series (i.e. Integra) of your washer if/when replying.

Hope this helps.

Regards,
BElectric

When I tried to turn off the dishwasher, it accidentally started the cycle again. I pushed the off button to stop it, but the bottom is full of water. How do I drain the stop and stop the cycle?

It would help if you provide the make and full model number of the dishwasher.

Normally you would press the drain/ cancel button if you have one.
if not it should most likely drain when you start the next cycle.

Whirlpool Dishwasher won't drain during normal cycle

As you say a clogged line or valve does not make sense.

Try running it without the heated drying and see if it empties or if the cancel button will work then.

The dishes should air dry quickly if you empty it and open the door.

It could be a defective thermostat allowing it to get too hot during the heat cycle

Kenmore Ultra Wash Dishwasher LIghts are blinking....

I just read this for the same problem: push sanitize, then heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, sanitize, heat and dry, cancel, then open and close the door. It worked. The dishwasher is running correctly even as I type this.
