Try a different vehicle if it still dont work it is a resistor in the heat sync and the unit over heated common on CDA-9827 thats why it has a fan alpine co tryed to fix the problem and it dont work well obviously the resistor should be very noticable when you open the case work up remove the cd unit 4 screws at each corner in the back right corner is where youll be looking it should be a gient grey or brown looking thing with rings on it ddont touch it wright down the coulors on it in reading order of appearence this determins the ohms (Resistance) of the resistor if it is not there it will be two metal things sticking up that look like this __, ,__
) '' '' ( your local radeoshack should have the part/s youl need the black one under it may have also been damaged by the heat if it did it should only cost pennys on the dollar to repair probbably around $8.00US Currency if you brought it to my place i would charge around $70.00US Currency so yeah its pretty easy to do your self youl need a peice of card board to practice on a 25Watt no more soldering iron if you go more than 25Watts you will dammage the motherboard youl also need fresh rosin core solder a steady hand and a little patience easy does it you dont usualy get a second chance so be carfull tip use a solder pen and give it at least 5 mins to heat or your solder wont bond

Sony CDX-L400X.All power supplies to the main plug connector at the rear end including the fuse are okay.The system is completely dead.The illumination,CD player and radio does not work.
