I have a Meade ETX-90/ec telescope, the verticle lock knob will not thighten. It appears to be stripped. how can I fix it? Where can I get a parts list? Thank you

The bolt is stripped away from the plastic knob-- TAKE THE vertical lock knob off and inspect the bolt head-- you can use a STRONG glue to fix it -- epoxy or something similar.

The vertical lock knob on my Meade ETX-70AT was over tightened and is broken. I contacted Meade and was told that they no longer stock this part. Looking for a source for the part.

You might be able to drill a hole through the plastic knob and use a washer and a bolt to hold the screw tight. Or do something like this fix:

Etx70 AT Will not initilise gives a Motor Unit Fault error and a moving line of illegible text underneath. Looks like either the main board has packed up. If so are spares available?

Only Meade has the boards. Contact them here:

They will probably want you to ship the scope to them for repair.

I have a Meade RB-70 telescope and have stripped the gears in the vertical adjuster - Meade no longer has the parts available

Only Meade would have the repair parts. Sorry. You will need to either use it as is, or purchase another telescope.

The telescope TUBE could be re-mounted on a photo tripod and used manually if you want to do this.

No horizontal movement of autostar

Here is Meade's manuals web site--

http://www.meade.com/manuals/index.html

They also have a customer support phone number-

www.meade.com

Either the gear is loose and not engaging or is broken-- or the clutch is not engaging when you tighten the base.
