My Hotpoint wf000 1000 spin model won't spin. It goes through a full wash cycle, agitates fine, but just won't spin at the end of the wash. Any help appreciated.

Sorry if it may be too obvious, but have you checked the philtre? generally they stop spinning when it's stuffed... when you open it, make sure you have a mop and bucket handy, some water will come out!

Frigidaire washing machine (FTW3011KW0) runs through all cycles, agitates, pumps out water, but doesn't spin, nor does the motor attempt to spin during the spin cycle

Your main switch needs replaced. The motor that drives the switch operates because it goes through the other cycles, so the switch must be bad.

No problem just want to know if one can put clothes soaking in bucket into the machine and go straight to spin to get excess water out without going thru the whole washing process. Cheerz!

Hi - yes theres a few options start it on the final rinse and set your water level to low or auto sense then spin speed (this will add more water to stabilesde the spin cycle)

Could go direct to spin as well but you will need to adjust the clothing proper prior to starting of the cycle..

The washing machine goes through the whole cycle but the machine will not do the spin cycle and I think the agitator has a hard time moving?

Hi,
If you find this check whether the machine pump out the water from the unit listen for the humming sound from the motor if you found the humming sound means your spinning coil is defective kindly replace the motor

Does washer drain before the spin cycle starts?

Normally yes. There are around 12 to 20 gallons of water in the tub after the wash cycle, which will be anywhere from 63 to 110 pounds of weight in addition to the weight of the clothes. For the machine to start the spin cycle to remove this water would place a heavy load on the motor, gearcase, pullys, belts, gears, ect. With the water drained, the load is lighter, and much easier to start spinning the excess water out of the clothes. The normal cycles are: Fill, Agitate, Drain, Spin, Rinse Fill, Agitate for rinse, Drain, Spin Cycle and off. Imagine trying to spin a 5 gallon bucket of water over your head, full of water, and then empty. Which one do you think would be easier to do? And safer for you.

Agitator moves slowly on wash cycle/not at all on spin cycle

it sounds like the dogs are worn. try twisting the agitator post by hand,it should move freely in one direction then lock up going the other.its a pretty easy fix if they are.pry off the top of the agitator post off then remove the cap inside, there is a bolt that holds the post down.i'm pretty sure it's 7/16 in. once the bolt is loose, lift the whole agitator out of machine and with your hand inside post turn it upside downand let the dog holder slide out.watch how the dogs fit into the holder, replace with new dogs and reverse the removal process.
if the machine wont spin, check the lid switch. thats usually the cause of a no spin situation.other than that a wet vac is your best bet.hope that helps.

Agitator not spinning

could'be water level switch or timer control. another posibility is corrosion on the motor wiring connector
