What is your operating system? Windows Vista Im guessing
since you said you got a new laptop. What I did to install a old programs is just open my computer (Make sure disk is in drive) and right click the CD icon, Go down explore. Right click a icon that says install or setup. go down to properties. click the tab that says compatibility. Check mark "Run this program in compatibility mode for: And choose what that program is ment for. should say on the box that came with your CD. Like Designed for Windows XP. Hope this works...

?Is there an easy way to do backup on a Dell pc?

buy a hard disk (blank) the same se physically and in capacity as the one in your computer. Set this up to be a second hard disk or as an eternal (USB) hard disk for your computer.
Obtain from the internet a program for clones (of hard disks); create a CD from this; ensure your computer is set to boot from CD first.
Insert the CD into your CD drive. Restart your computer.
Proceed to clone FROM your original hard disk TO your new, blank hard disk. BE CAREFUL THAT YOU DO NOT CLONE THE BLANK DISK TO THE ORIGINAL DISK ELSE YOU WILL HAVE YOU WILL NOTHING. This could take hours. Your should ensure your PC is not interrupted during this process.
At the end the process you should be left with your original unaltered hard disk, plus an identical copy of it, which can be inserted in place of your original if that goes wrong.

This is just one way of backing up.

My lap top doesn't display my external disc anymore. How can I manage?

hello sir,
Go to start->settings->control panel->administrative tools->computer management->disk management and assign a letter if it is missing.

Some times the "enclosure" goes bad and the hard disk is fine. You could take the hard disk out of the enclosure and try it in another computer.

I have a MK1231GAL hard disk and I try to make windows recognize but it doesnt work. What can i do? I need the files in the hard disk. The disk was from my camcorder sony, that was broken. Please...

This kind of hard drive is for small gadgets, lots of iPods and Zune's have it. To use with a computer you might have to format it first as a data storage device. What kind of connection do you use with this device? Try using an USB adatpter. It might help it be recognizable.
Good Luck!

When i install new window for time of coping file on 11 % immediately it goes to blue screen fail to continue i have change different hard disk but also fail what wrong?

The problem is most likely in your installation (e.g. your CD). Download another CD from the Microsoft Download Center (for an XP system you might need to head to a website such as, burn it on a CD and install it using your original serial number.

How do I delete music from my mp3 player?

Depends on the mp3 player you have. Try plugging the mp3 player into the computer from there go to my computer and click on the device. From there you can access the media on the mp3 player and delete it. If the player is a "Ipod" or "Zune". You will need to use the software to delete the contents by clicking on your mp3 player.

My Zune 30gb sounds like an old floppy disk is trying to load? It makes this noise for a few minutes and then goes to error 5.

Uh oh. I had the same exact issue with my Zune 120GB. I bought it from Walmart and then less then 24 hours it did that. Your Hard Drive is obviously the problem and the needle that does everything is out of place and trying to do its normal task but it can't because its out of place. So to fix this you would have to go buy a new HD for it and if its still under warranty you can file a claim and send it back to Microsoft.

Error code c00d124d appears on my zune while sync

You may have to attempt a Hard Reset if this issue is persistant.

This will erase everything on your device, as a warning please be certian you have backup copies or this is a last resort.

Here is the original post:
WARNING: A hard reset will delete everything on your Zune.
  1. Press and hold the back button
  2. Press and hold up until it reboots
  3. Depending on which Zune you have, immediately do one of the following:
    1. If you have a Zune 4 GB, Zune 8BG, or Zune 80GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time as you press the right side of the Zune pad and the Play/Pause button. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message: “Clearing contents. Please wait.”
    2. If you have a Zune 30GB, immediately press and hold the Back button Back at the same time that you press the right side of the Zune pad and the center of the Zune pad. Continue to hold these buttons until the Zune device restarts and you receive the following message: “Clearing contents. Please wait.”

    Good luck, Let us know

Zune thinks it has 17 Gb of media oon it when there is none!!

it is trying to synch all the data on your computer that you have indexed to the zune. don't worry about it. windows media player is just screwed up. (no comments MS lovers :-) in other words, it is lying!!! try the system menue on the zune, it will probably say it has no media on it at all.(referr to microsoft website or your manual on how to view the info)

Zune Storage

Through the software in the device options you can delete everything on your zune (same as a reformat on your computer harddrive) this should solve your problem for the most part... If not there is a keycode that will ERASE EVERYTHING including firmware so you can start fresh.. Just try the software method and see how it goes.

Flash Drive

Open up "my computer" on your pc. Find your downloads from your Zune playlist and right click with the mouse on that folder. It will give you the option to move this folder. Move this folder to the drive labled "removable disk". This should work. Let me know if it does not work.
