I have a ps3 receiving a signal wirelessy thru my netgear WGR614v6 router and when i log on to soldier of fortune it tells me that i have a slow connection, but when i do the internet test on the main screen of the ps3, it tells me the connection is 100%. Now help me out here, i am computer literate, that is about it. also when i try to connect into the game, it locks up, im still in the game, i can see what is happening, i just can not spawn. lagging is an issue obviously too... any help will be appreciated. thanks.

I'm having the same problem with Metal Gear Solid Beta Test and Burnout Paradise City. I can't get logged on to MGS and can not download the 1.0 patch on Burnout. Any ideas?

Make sure that you NAT is open to your PS3. To open it, you need to forward some ports. Call up PS3 and ask them what ports are needed to be forwarded. Then, go and do the adjustments to your router.

I have a wireless router (netgear rangemax) and had my laptop connected to it. I connected my ps3 to the internet and now i cannot get internet connection thru my laptop. my network says i have...

If nothing was changed in the router after connecting your PS3, possible that the devices are not syncing properly. Do a power cycle. Turn of all of your devices including the router and the modem. Wait for about a minute and turn them on in this order. Modem, wait for the lights to stabilize, then the rotuer, wait for power become solid gree. then turne the Laptop and PS3. See if this will help.

Netgear range max keeps dropping signal

Is it cable or DSL? Cable should be fine but DSL gets slower everytime a second or third connection is added.

Connection settings for a ps3 via netgear WGR614

you need to check your routers firewall setting by accessing your router through the pc and make sure your plug and play settings are enabled. all can be found on the router setup page. the playstation only requires you to enter the WPSK or WPA wireless encryption key to log on so the problem is usually with the router....hope this helps.

Just hooked up ps3 wirless , gaming is slow

if your PS3 is closer than 20 feet from your router, then its unlikely to be your signal strength.  However, Wireless connections tend to "poll" their connected hardware. What I mean by taht is.... The router sends out a signal, just to check and make sure all the peripherals are still there.  I dunno about PS3 yet, cos I havent tried to game online, but I am an avid PC online gamer, my pc is within 5 feet of my router and Ive switched back to LAN cable to play.  I was experiencing periodic "lag"... due to that polling effect.  Try using the LAN cable and see if that makes a difference ( I dont know how many Ethernet RJ45 connections a Netgear has, ... if it only has one, you may need to connect a "switch" )
