Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.
Hope that helps!

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

You need to check the encoder strip, the clear plastic behind the carriage, ink or grease will stop it from reading and give that error. Also ink buildup on the clean station will slow it's travel.

Try cleaning the encoder strip with Sprayway Glass Cleaner, clean both sides till nothing comes off on paper towel. The encoder strip is the semi clear plastic strip that runs the width of the printer just behind the printhead cradle. You should be able to see through this strip but not like clear glass. This will also help with this printer if it is printing crooked images.

SOURCE: This started out with a
OK ..first open the back lid..and look for any paper leftovers...and after that do the same on the front cover...Move the carriage left and right and look for any tiny paper blocking the carriage ...If all seam to be OK ...than proceed for reset ..The reset can be done as in this video ...in more than one mode..
I suggest to try the 3rd reset on this video ...the partial on e...and if it not works ...try the hard reset as follows...
With the printer on ..remove the power cord....and wait about 5 minutes..
Press the # and the 9 (or #and 6 for some ) while reconnecting the power cord...
hold on the buttons until the printer powers on ..and displays the resetting ..
