Question about Bissell Lift-Off(R) Revolution(R) Turbo Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Clogged Bissell After debris clears the brush part, it gets clogged at the point of entrance into the machine, barely anything makes it through the filter and into the canister. Clogs immediately after a few swipes of the carpet. Had vacuum for almost 3 years.

Something must be in the hose causing a clog, take the hose off and if suction is good where the hose hooks up, then there is something caught inside the hose.

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

There are a few potential solutions you should try. The first thing you should check is the height of your brush-roll. Your height setting may be too high for the type of floor you are vacuuming. Raise or lower your brush-roll depending on if you are vacuuming on carpet, tile, or wood surfaces. The second thing you should check is the vacuum bag. If it is full your vacuum can lose suction. This is simply remedied by replacing it with a new and clean bag. The third reason for a loss of suction is your hose is clogged. Check the hose for debris or foreign objects that may be obstructing the flow of air in the vacuum. The last potential reason for your vacuum losing suction could be the brush-roll itself. If it is clogged with dirt and hair it may not be spinning and not picking anything up. Check to see the condition of your brush-roll. If it is clogged remove the debris.

My brush will not turn on my Bissell 6393 upright bagless vacuum... what is wrong? The belt broke and I replaced it twice... I now have 6 more replacements but the brush still won't rotate. Do I have to...

This type of plastic brush roll fails pretty frequently. Hair and other debis gets jammed in the end caps. The hair and debris gets hot which in turn tends to melt the plastic end caps. Remove your brush roll, hold the ends with your fingers and try to spin the brush roll. If it does not spin freely then it is probably damaged or clogged up. If it's not damaged beyond repair you may be able to unscrew the end caps and clean the debris out. If you can't unscrew the end caps then they may already be meted shut. Bissell part number for your brush roll is B2032305.

Debris getting stuck in vacuum hose

Check that the filters are completely clean. If there are clogged they would have to be washed and then dried to room temp (or a low temp tumble dryer, put the filters into a pillow case with a towel and install into the machine) Tip the bissell backwards to make sure the bottom bin is pushed and locked all the way in. Only when the two seals meet will you know that the bin has locked in properly. Unhook by prising the main hose at the back off to check for clogs as well as the main hose at the bottom and the main dust channel at the sole plate where the roller bar is. You may have to remove the bottom plate to check for any obstructions behind the brush bar.
I have the Easy vac myself. Its not an Easy machine to maintain when it gets clogged!

Bissell Lift-Off Revolution keeps clogging

Sounds like it is partially clogged. That yellow thing you are talking about, twist it and it should come out, clean or replace the filters, then re-install it. Check the hose and make sure there isn't a clog in it and clean any other filter. One problem with this bagless is the filters will clog up fast and need to be cleaned on a regular basis. Another place a clog happens is in the inlet by the brush roll.

Vaccuum will not ****

Remove the hose from the holder, if you have suction at the end of your hose, then the problem is down below that point. Check the dirt inlet for a clog. Also the belt may have stretched and isn't turning under load. If you haven't replaced the belt in a while, change it and check the brush roll and make sure the ends are turning freely.
If no suction at the end of the hose and your hose is cleat, then the filters are clogged, check all of them.

Will not suck

You must still have a clog, check the dirt inlet down by the brush roll(#23) for a clog. Do you have suction at the hose end, if you do, then it is clogged down below. If you don't then either the hose or filters are clogged.
