Load up your computer in safe mode this will allow only the basic setting to be loaded. You can then make changes your operating sytem. It is worth checking if your computer was backed up in the past and do a system restore.

Will not get pass the windows xp screen

Hi,

If it is struck in the XP logo Screen, that means one of the system file is not able to execute properly.
Try to start the computer in Safe Mode. Just Keep Tapping F8 when u press the power button while switching on the computer, and u will be able to find the a long list, use arrow navigation key and select the Safe Mode.
Checks it is working or not. If it's works try to restore the computer to a date back when it was working.

If the Safe Mode is not working then please Repair the OS using the XP CD.

In case if you have any more trouble do contact back in Fixya.
Thank you

6 Free Solutions is Behind You for Windows Password Recvoery

When you forgot your Windows login password, what would you do? Take your computer to a PC repair shop or buy an expensive Windows password recovery tool? Well, sometimes it costs you no penny to get back or reset your lost Windows password actually. Don't believe it? Just have a try of the following free Windows password recovery solutions if you forgot Windows password to your computer.
1. Ophcrack LiveCDMany free Windows password recovery tool are supposed to help you get back in computer if one forgot Windows password for your computer. In reality, some users resort to free Windows password recovery tool to unlock their PC, like Ophcrack. Ophcrack LiveCD is a completely self contained, bootable version of Ophcrack. Ophcrack LiveCD is the easiest and most effective Windows password recovery freeware that I've ever found to "crack" your forgotten Windows password.
Since you can't login your Windows PC because you lost the password, so first you'll need to visit Ophcrack's website to download ophcrack LiveCD. Please make sure that if you've forgotten Windows 7 password or Vista password, click on ophcrack Vista LiveCD. If you've forgotten XP password, click on ophcrack XP LiveCD.
2. Cain & AbelUnlike Ophcrack and other popular Windows password recovery programs, Cain & Abel requires access to Windows under an administrator account. In fact, Cain & Abel is a bit more complicated to use than other password recovery tools which is usually unavailable for Windows Vista as is said.
If you have no way of getting in to your Windows PC, you will not be able to use Cain & Abel to recover your password. Moreover, before you can use Cain & Abel, you'll need to download a rainbow table. These large databases of passwords are required so Cain & Abel can reset the forgotten windows password.
3. Available Admin AccountIt's well known that Windows administrator users have rights to change password of other user account on the same computer. So if you forgot password of the user account, just enter your administrator account and do as follows:

1. Press F8 to enter the Advanced Boot Options when booting your PC.

2. Select Safe Mode and enter your computer with an Administrator password.

3. In Safe Mode, click Start-> Run-> Type control userpasswords2->click OK.

4. On the coming up Users screen, click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password to process.

4. Windows Password Reset DiskIt is considered the easiest way to reset Windows password when you are forbiddened to access your laptop with protected password. However, many of us haven't enough consciousness on creating a Windows password reset disk before they lost the password.

1. Type a wrong password on the Windows logon screen.

2. Click OK when Windows displays a message that the password is incorrect and "Reset password" link will appear.

3. Click Reset password to pop up Password Reset Wizard screen, and then click Next.

4. Follow the steps in the Password Reset Wizard to create a new password.

Note:This solution takes effect provided you have created a Windows password reset disk for your Windows account in advance.
5. Typing Ctrl + Alt + Del (Only Under Windows XP)This option is only for Windows XP. Furthermore, the default administrator account on Windows XP is enabled and not password protected by default, which is disabled by default on Windows 7 and Vista.

1. Turn on your Windows XP machine and go to its logon screen.

2. Press Ctrl+ Alt +Del twice to pop up the classic logon box.

3. Enter Administrator in the User name box and then click OK to log on your Windows XP machine.

4. Click Start button to pop up the Run box, and then type control userpasswords2 and click OK.

5. On the coming screen, click the name of the user account that you want to reset the password for, and then click Reset Password for password recovery.

6. System Recovery OptionYou can use system recovery options to reset lost Windows password by using Windows installation disc or access to the recovery options provided by your computer manufacturer. Also you can create a system repair disc as below:

1. Click the Start -> Control Panel -> System and Security -> Backup and Restore.

2. Click Create a system repair disc on the left pane.

3. Insert a blank CD/ DVD into your CD/DVD drive and click on the Create disc button. It will start creating the System Repair Disc.

4. When it's finished, click the Close button, and then click OK to finish.

Of course, if you cannot resolve your problem with these free Windows password recovery tools, you can create a password reset disk with Windows Password Unlocker, which allows to burn a password reset CD/DVD or USB flash drive to bypass lost password on Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/2003/2008 in a short time.

Acer aspire one starts to boot up stops at windows xp screen

Hi there !

I suggest you try to run your computer on safe mode by pressing F8 when booting up. Advance menu options will pop up and choose run on safe mode. When it load the Windows, try to figure out what you installed or you before your computer happens. I suggest that you download also windows registry cleaner to fix some errors in your computer that prevent you to go to windows screen when booting up on normal mode. Run the FULL SCAN and press the fix errors button.

I should somehow help your computer.

I want to do repair missing system file on my MSI notebook, but don't want to reinstall. How do I do a repair from the recovery cd which just seems to want to format and reinstall everything?

alternatively, use a windows cd as if you are installing a fresh copy. if it is xp you using, go until you accept the agreement by pressing f8. after that it will give you an option to press some keys to continue, press the R for recovery without formating, it will repair you windows and keep your data.

if it is vista, find a genuine copy, it will give you an option to upgrade you windows, and that too will not require you to loose your data, it will keep it.

alternatives can be found from my master: askleon.com.

thank you,

wonder

I want to know my Administrator Password

Place your Windows XP CD in your cd-rom and start your computer (it’s assumed here that your XP CD is bootable – as it should be - and that you have your bios set to boot from CD) 2. Keep your eye on the screen messages for booting to your cd Typically, it will be “Press any key to boot from cd”
3. Once you get in, the first screen will indicate that Setup is inspecting your system and loading files.

4. When you get to the Welcome to Setup screen, press ENTER to Setup Windows now
5. The Licensing Agreement comes next - Press F8 to accept it.
6. The next screen is the Setup screen which gives you the option to do a Repair.

It should read something like “If one of the following Windows XP installations is damaged, Setup can try to repair it”
Use the up and down arrow keys to select your XP installation (if you only have one, it should already be selected) and press R to begin the Repair process.
