Hi what you need to do is get the battery flat so the mp3 player is off then plug into charger nut leave it off then follow these instructions
1. with player off switch the lock button to lock
2. with key lock still on press and hold down rec button on left hand side
3. whilst still holding rec button down switch on still holding rec button down.
4. now the screen should say recovery mode dont press anything
5 goto sandisk website and download latest firmware for your device.
6. once downloaded onto computer select the programme on your computer
7. it will then take you through the process of reinstalling the latest firmware for your mp3 player.
After doing this you should have no problems but if you do then give me a shout back then i can help you further ok

Sansa E200 screen stuck scribbly black vertical lines

When it is on, holding the power button in for 5 or more seconds hard resets the device. Give that a try. If not. it's possible it's been bounced one too many times and needs the LCD cable re-connected or the controller is bad for the LCD.

Uploading songs on it

you could try putting it into recovery mode if it's like the sansa e200 series. to do this plug it into your computer and click the hold button so the orange is showing. next, hold down the record button while pushing and holding the power button at the same time. after a few seconds it should go into recovery mode and factory settings will restore. this works for sansa e200's and i hope yours is almost the same as them. try the sansa forums though they could help alot.

best of luck

Transfering songs

-Plug in your mp3 player

-Go into 'Limewire', select a song and go 'Locate file/Open Containg Folder', you should be in your folder with all your songs. or go 'My Music' and find your music files.

-Either select all your songs, open them with 'Windows Media Player' and transfer them that way.
-Or 'Open My Computer' then open 'Sansa e200' and drag the songs from where your songs are located [My Music] to the 'Music' folder in your Sansa e200 folder.
