How to connect an iPhone to the Internet

Connecting your iPhone to the internet is an easy process. You just simply use any application on your iPhone which uses internet service.

Your iPhone can either use WiFi or Cellular for internet access.

- A WiFi network is simply a wireless network. You can find them at coffee shops, libraries or even at your house if you a router setup for wireless access.

- Cellular data networks allow Internet connectivity over the cellular network. Check your carrier's network coverage in your area for availability.

When you use an application on your iPhone that requires internet service it will either connect to the last WiFi network used, or if that network is not available it will list all available networks in range. You can simply tap on the network you wish to join and it will connect. If the network requires a password it will show a lock icon. If no Wifi networks are available your iPhone will connect over the cellular data network and fees may apply.

To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range, from the Home screen choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.

I hope this article was informative. You can check out more of my tech articles by clicking here then going to the Tips section.

How to back up iphone

If you need to backup your iphone to pc, a data transfer software is better than official iTunes sometimes and you can transfer data separately instead of syncing them all at once. Apple doesn't have any other official software without iTunes for data transfer through USB. Have a try of this,

How do i transfer all the stuff from my old i phone to my new i phone

If you have updated your iPhone backup with iTunes or iCloud, you are able to move most of the important data from old iPhone to new iPhone by restoring new iPhone with the backups.
When the restoring process is finished, the data will be imported into your new iPhone, but the media files, such as music, videos and so on, won't be transferred. If you have purchased albums in iTunes Store, you will have the songs in your purchased history, and you are able to download the songs on your new iPhone directly by entering iTunes Store with your Apple ID. You'll need good Wi-Fi connection to finish the task.
These methods are helpful for transferring data from old iPhone to new iPhone, but they won't help you transfer to the non-purchased files, like CD copies, ripped videos and so on. At this moment, you will need the iPhone transfer software to transfer non-purchased files from old iPhone to new iPhone.

C an not buy muisic, they said, i'm not connect to the internet

Hello,

You have to ocnnect your iphone to internet first , Follow below step to connect to internet

When you use any Internet enabled application, iPhone does the following in order until connected:
  1. Connects over the last Wi-Fi network you used that's available.
  2. If no Wi-Fi networks you've used are available, shows a list of Wi-Fi networks in range. Tap a network and, if necessary, enter the password to join. Networks that require a password show ht1695_1.jpg next to them.
  3. If no Wi-Fi networks are available or you choose not to join any, iPhone connects over the cellular data network.
Note: You can be on a call and use Wi-Fi or 3G1 at the same time. Other cellular data networks are unavailable while you're on a call.
Wi-Fi
  • Wi-Fi is often faster than cellular data networks. Wi-Fi networks cover limited areas. iPhone can join AirPort and other Wi-Fi networks at home, at work, or at Wi-Fi hot spots around the world.
When iPhone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, the Wi-Fi icon ht1695_2b.jpg in the status bar at the top of the screen shows connection strength. The more bars you see, the stronger the connection.
  • To see all the Wi-Fi networks in range, from the Home screen choose Settings > Wi-Fi. Tap a network to join it.
  • Many Wi-Fi networks can be used free of charge, and some require a fee. To join a Wi-Fi network at a hot spot where charges apply, in most cases you can open Safari to see a webpage that allows you to sign up for service.
For information about configuring Wi-Fi settings, see the "Wi-Fi" section of the iPhone User's Guide.
Note: iOS devices sold in China may use the term Wireless LAN (WLAN) instead of Wi-Fi. Not all China iPhone models support WLAN; see this article for more information.
Cellular data networks
  • Cellular data networks allow Internet connectivity over the cellular network. Check your carrier's network coverage in your area for availability.
You can tell iPhone is connected to the Internet over a cellular data network if you see ht1695_utms_onb.png,ht1695_3b.jpg or ht1695_gprs_onb.png in the status bar at the top of the screen.
If you're outside your carrier's network, you may be able to use a cellular data network from another carrier. Roaming charges may apply.
Note: If not on 3G, while iPhone is actively transferring data over the cellular data network-downloading a webpage, for example-you may not be able to receive calls. Incoming calls may go to voicemail.
I hope , after this , you will be able to connect to Internet....

Thanks
Sandeep

Cannot receive calles while any application is open 3.0 firmware jaile breaked by redsnow

3g phone or 2 g phone?
If 3g is the 3g turned on or have access to 3g?
If 2g, accessing edge network read this
The "may not be able to receive calls" portion stems from the fact that there are two types of EDGE network types, NOM1 and NOM2. When your iPhone is connected to a NOM1 network, the data transmission will generally be interrupted, and the incoming call allowed to come through. When your iPhone is connected to a NOM2 network, however, the EDGE data transfer process cannot be interrupted, and the call will generally go to voicemail.
Fortunately, there is a way to check whether you are connected to a NOM1 or NOM2 network. First, put your iPhone in field test mode by accessing the Phone application, tapping Keypad, then entering *3001#12345#* and pressing Call.
Tap GPRS Information and look at the entry next to nom. It will be either 1 or 2. If you see a 1, you'll likely be able to receive a call while transferring data. If you see a 2, you likely won't.
Unfortunately, it appears that NOM2 is much more prevalent on AT&T's data network. In fact, we've yet to see our iPhone connect to a NOM1 network. As such, we can't even state with certainty that the iPhone supports NOM1 at all.
