Hello, I have had my JVC HD-52z575 for about 3 years. It had performed perfectly. About a year ago I got the message to replace the bulb. I did not replace an reset my timer because picture was fine. Last night when we sat down to watch a movie the picture went out. Well I thought my bulb went out, no problem can't gripe about that service. We didn't turn off the set but were on PC looking for a bulb to order when the picture came back on!! It lasted about10 min and went back off. This is the state I am in now. I can turn off and wait a couple hours and turn on, no picture. If I leave it on it will come on in about 15 minuites and last 5 to 15 min and go dark again. Any idea's??
Thanks
Karl
The lamp is turned on by a high voltage ballast, very similar to the ones in your fluorsecent light fixtures. Your ballast is starting to fail. You should have your TV serviced by a JVC authorized service center because they have the training to deal with this issue. Waiting until it fails could very likely cause more servere damage especially if it fails shorted then the power supply will need to be replaced as well.
