SOURCE: Have a 2 year old SAMSUNG RS2545SH Side by Side

Control board has gone bad....

What happens is the defrost is controlled electronically from a circuit board, when this goes bad, the freezer quits defrosting, and freezes the fans that circulate air through the fridge side of things.

To check this, unplug the entire fridge, leave the freezer open, wait for it to defrost a bit, if this causes the fridge to start cooling again when you plug it back in, then its the defrost. You should also see ice crystals on the back of the freezer just under the icemaker.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG RS20CCMS AMERICAN STYLE FRIDGE FREEZER

in the freezer section there is a 6 screws. unscrew them and remove the back panel. there will be 2 wires attached to the panels, remember where they go. you will see a metal evaporator which will be filled with ice. this is the problem. use a hairdryer to melt the ice. this is essential as you mustn't puncture the wall of the fridge with any sharp item. before replacing the panel ensure that everything is dry or ice will reform, and also ensure that the fan blades are turning properly or cold air will not be blown into the fridge.

SOURCE: frigde wont get cold but freezer does.

I am an authorized Samsung service center, and I have dealt with this ongoing design problem for years. The problem occurs when the unit comes out of the defrost cycle, not all of the frost has been removed by the defrost element and an ice bridge occurs at the top and bottom evaporator coil. There are sensors that send readings back to the main PCB during and after this cycle, They have to be replaced along with adding heat transfer clips for better frost meltage and air circulation.
Order the following parts through Samsung:: Fixer # DA61-03585A, Plate # DA61-03502A, Thermal Bi-metal # DA47-10160H, Sensor # DA32-00006W. Have these parts installed by a professional appliance repair company.
I hope this will fix your dilemma, Ward Appliance Repair.

the freezer should be arond -20 degrees celcius and the fridge aroud 5 degrees celcius
There could be a problem with air flow
the fan in the freezer has probably stopped or the air flow into the fridge is probably blocked
You could have a defrost problem. this would allow ice to build up in the freezer blocking off ai flow.

Fridge not cold

you have a fan motor and blade located between the fridge and freezer. What this fan does is regulates the temp of the fridge from the coldness of the freezer. If this fan is out the fridge will be warm. The fan is losacted in the space between the fridge and freezer on the inside near you temp control switch. Look at the top of the fridge on the inside and you will see a set of vents. The fan is located behind these slotted vents. Take care in removing the plastic cover and remove the motor. Take model and serial# to an appliance parts house for proper replacement.

Hope this helped you some

The temp sensor for the freezer may be reading the warm air in the fridge so is not cutting the compressor off.

GE TFX26KRDA WW 2001 side by side refrig/freezer w warm fridge

Cleaned the condenser coils which were dusty but not severely so. Checked the evaporator coils which were NOT iced. Reset the fridge to coldest setting and freezer to #5 (mid range of temperature) and waited a full 36 hours. Fridge temp is 40 F and freezer is about 0F. Not sure what is different except coldest setting on fridge. Warm weather is here but not warm enough to require AC. Temps in late afternoon in house about 77-80F. Any thoughts are appreciated because I suspect this problem is not completely resolved.
