Hi there
You need a program that you can use on your PC with this program you scan it to your PC and then print it out, ok you need a program like art or photo or paint or some thing like this that have a scan in it.

Read more below.
The best program to put on your Pc is what I use and it is Free you, it is called PagePluse SE, you should try it you can do all sort of things with it but there no scan on it, just scan your photos to the your pc with another program witch has scan on it and put them in the SE program and you can do any size you wont and after adding text to it or backgrounds you can send it to the printer and print, an other program I use for scanning from the printer to the PC is called PainShop Pro 7 witch is a old program there newer ones out now but I am happy just using the old one it does the trick.

The Free version is Called PagePluse SE you not need the version 9.

Ok here the link to download the PagePluse SE program and it not a free trial it a free, there is one you can Buy but this is all you need download the free one it just as good.

Click Link = http://www.freeserifsoftware.com/software/pageplus/index.asp

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Have mx510/512 canon printer/scanner/fax with new windows 10 computer. How do I scan documents or photo into my pc? no scan option when I open canon utility...

Step Connect the all-in-one printer to your computer through the provided USB power cable. Install all drivers that came with the Canon product. Without the drivers the computer is unable to import scanned images to your system.
Step Power on the printer and lift the cover on the top of the scanner bed. Position the image face down on the scanner glass, positioned in the corner when a green arrow points. Close the lid to secure the image.
Step Click the "Start" button, then choose "All Programs," "Accessories" and select "Scanner and Camera Wizard." This is a pre-installed application found on all Windows based computers.
Step Choose the "Scan" option, then select the connected Canon all-in-one printer and click "Scan" again. The image is scanned into your computer with a display of the picture on the screen.
Step Click "File" in the upper left corner of the desktop, followed by "Save." A save window appears on the screen. Title the image, choose a location to save the file to and click "OK." The image file now saves to your computer.

How do I scan a pic from printer to computer?

Things You'll Need:
  • Computer
  • All-in-one printer
  1. Step 1 Blow the dust from your scanner and printing area with canned air. Clean the scanner bed and the underside of the document lid with a damp, lint-free cloth before scanning.
  2. Step 2 Get your computer and all-in-one printer turned on and talking to each other. Open the scanning software on your computer if needed. If not, you can use the controls on your printer to run the show.
  3. Step 3 Lay the picture to be scanned face-down on the glass. Square up the photo using the guides that are usually located along the edges of the scanning bed.
  4. Step 4 Close the lid.
  5. Step 5 Go for a higher dpi (dots per inch) count if you plan on displaying the scanned image at larger-than-life size. Otherwise, you can select a lower resolution.
  6. Step 6 Click the scan button on your computer's scanning software window. Some all-in-one printers need you to press the scan button on the printer itself; check the manual before using.
  7. Step 7 Get a preview of the scanned image up on your computer monitor. This might happen automatically depending on your software settings; if not, you will have to prompt your computer to display one.
  8. Step 8 Correct small defects such as red-eye in the image. Save extensive changes for later with dedicated photo-editing software.
  9. Step 9 Accept the scan and save to your hard drive. Remember to put your picture away.

How to scan picture to upload on computer

First, ensure you are connecting the scanner to your computer. I'm assuming USB connection, and that you're using an operating system supported by this device.

Next, install the drivers and software for this device. Those should have come with an installation disc, but if you don't have that disc, you can get them from the PIXMA MP830 support site, here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=123&modelid=12804

To scan a single document, place the document:
1. Place the document face down on the platen glass.
2. Open the MP Navigator 2.2 software.
3. Click Scan Photo/Document.
4. Click Document Type drop-down arrow and select the type of document to be scanned. Chose from the following types.
  • Color Document(Simplex): Select this to scan one side of color documents.
  • Color Document(Duplex): Select this to scan both sides of color documents.
  • B/W Document(Simplex): Select this to scan one side of monochrome documents.
  • B/W Document(Duplex): Select this to scan both sides of monochrome documents.
  • Text(Simplex): Select this to scan one side of text documents.
  • Text(Duplex): Select this to scan both sides of text documents.
5. Click 'Specify' and set the preferences as required. Click here for detailed information

6. After making the setting changes, click 'Scan'

7. Click 'Save to PC' or 'Save as PDF file'. Save to PC is displayed when an image is captured with Scan Photo/Document or Batch Scanning

The directions for Batch Scanning, or using the ADF to scan, are shown below.
  1. Place the document(s) in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
    1. To scan using the ADF, remove any documents from the platen glass.
    2. Open the document tray.

    3. Insert the documents face-up in the ADF and then adjust the document guides.

When scanning using the ADF, the documents will automatically feed.

  2. On the Windows desktop, double-click 'MP Navigator 2.2'.
    1. Alternatively, on the Windows taskbar, click 'Start', point to '(All) Programs', 'Canon', then 'MP Navigator 2.2'.
    2. Then click 'MP Navigator 2.2'. MP Navigator opens.

  3. Click 'Batch Scanning'.

Canon MP830 not scanning

It won't scan unless you have a program like picasso running on your computer to accept the scan. On the Canon you choose where you want the scanned image to go and if you choose the computer you need a program running to store or adjust the scanned image.

Scanning

ther are a few steps in this..First --scan your photo--then save it in a jpg file. and place it on the desktop as a shortcut to your photo. Go to your website--find the place where it tells you to upload pictures and when the pop up shows up-- click on the word browse..look for you photo on the DESKTOP and double click on it. this will tell the computer to send it to that website. It should say downloading. then the pic will get to the site you chose. You have to download from you website as it is easier than sending to the web address.

The best way to get the photos from the computer back to the camera is to remove the memory card from camera , then transfer photos to memory card then replace the card back into camera, photos should be seen in camera.
