PXE-E61: MEDIA TEST FAILuRE, CHECK CABLE PXE-M0F: EXITING NVIDIA BOOT AGENT. REBOOT AND SELECT PROPER BOOT DEVICE

Hope this helps. I assume cable is good, try to listen by drawing your ear nearer to the disk. The normal sound of the harddisk as the disk spindle comes to work when given power, a uniform thin sound of rotating motor. The abnormal rotations sounds like initializing motor-kicking and died down in cycle or it gives audible clicking sound due to arm-head drive coil initialization failure, it may also give a scratching sound when the tiny head crashed against the disk. By then, this audible signs gives us hint that the harddisk has a fatal error. However you can try another good cable, attaching it to another sata port, power connector and trying it to run on another pc. Hope it gives good signs that your disk is alive.

The Memorex DVD player makes clicking and either it stops playing or plays in fits a starts - It does this more than half way into the disc

That sounds like the traverse motor is having problems turning and moving the laser further out into the disk.
Check there is not a speck of hard dust on the traverse motor mechanics, cogs etc.

My 360 will not play any disks, and makes a grinding sounds when the disk is inside. It's only 8 months old, and everything is stock.

If it makes grinding sounds while a disc is inside it, then it has probably got something to do with the motor spinning the disc. Something is either preventing it from spinning (excess dust can do this) or it's on it way to dying. Best bet is to call Microsoft and ask them for a repair order. With your X-box only being 8 months old, it should still be under warranty and therefor should cost you nothing to fix :)

My playstation 2 makes a weird clicky sound when I try to play some of my dvds or games and sometimes it comes up with disk error or unable to read disk and its a brand new disk

Your PS2 lens is displaced from its original position that is what scratching your Discs and makes weird noises too. There can possibly be another reason for them ,your PS2's reading lens is dirty and it is covered by a layer of dust that scratches your Discs and makes sounds too.
You should first clean the lens of your PS2 watch this video to know how to clean your PS2's lens:

Disk read errors are mainly due to dirty or worn out lens,so clean your PS2's lens to get rid of this problem and as for that sound that will get fixed by cleaning lens if still it makes that sound then you will have to take your PS2 to repairer to set the lens height.
Thank you!

When you put a cd in, it asks you to put in a playstation cd. Is it not reading the cd? It also sounds like the cd is making a clicking sound.

Hi!

Ok, sounds to me like you may have one of the following problems (none of are going to sound very good):
  1. The motor that spins the CD has burnt out/become faulty.
(Does it sound like the disk is spinning inside the machine?)

Solution: Return to Sony if it's under warranty..otherwise, look for spare parts on somewhere like ebay. Unfortunately, it may work out easier to replace your PS1. Secondhand ones go pretty cheap online or somewhere like EBGames.
  2. One of the bearings that holds the disk in place has become loose or fallen out.
(This is the part of the machine that holds the disk in place when spinning the disk. You should have 3 little silver bearings around the outer edge of small circle you click the disk onto. Also check the bottom of your CD..if it has scratches that go all the way around the disk in a circular motion, it may indicate the CD is not sitting in the cradle properly)

Solution: Same as above. Spare parts online, new machine or steal the part from one of your mates :)
  3. The lazer has died
(Though this wouldn't really explain the clicking noise. but it would explain the disks not being read)

Solution: Replace the lazer (which is really cheap to do if you how to install it) or replace your PS1
  4. The disk is scratched & cannot be read by the machine

Solution: Buy a CD/DVD repair kit & see if you can buff out the scratches. There are a lot of places now that have specialized equipment for doing this now such as video stores, 2nd hand stores etc..they may do it for a small fee.
Sorry there's no real positive ideas for you there..hope this helps point you in the right direction.

Pioneer CDJ-800 "died" while playing a song, unable to play cd's now.

Ok, I am not sure what your question is?

More than likely either the drive motor, or the power transformer gave out or both. Unfortunately, not a cheap fix, but cheaper than buying new. Total parts and labor, would run you about $200 or so.

My dvd won't play any movies

the ticking sound is most likely the laser hitting the disk trying to focus, my guess is the motor isnt spinning the disc or the laser is bad or weak.

the reason it makes the "grinding" noise is because the motor that moves the lens to read the disk is dieing, this generally happens when you have played your ps2 for a long time, this only happens to older consoles.
