Hello. Get a bottle of carburator cleaner which you add to the fuel. follow the directions on the bottle. This should solve your problem.

Ridgid pressure washer motor runs choppy when choke is disengaged

The choke reduces the air flow into the carb. If you are having problems with the choke off, it means that not enough fuel is getting into the engine and it is running lean. When you choke it, the reduced air flow causes the mixture to be correct and it runs fine.

What is the starting procedure?

Start with the choke on full press the fuel siphon button till the lines are full of fuel. pull handle until it tries to start but stops. move the choke to half then start again. let it run for 60 seconds on full. don't move the choke to full or it will stop. Either slow the revs and then put the choke on full or keep the revs high and slowly move the choke to full (to allow the governor to slowly advance with the new revs)

To stop a dieseling two stroke motor you can either choke them out (full choke) or block the air intake with a rag and starve the motor for air. Chances are the carburetor slide is sticking in a wide open position. Take the carburetor apart clean and inspect it. Also inspect the intake manifold for cracks and air leaks. For normal running add a kill switch so you can stop the motor without having to unplug or ground the spark plug. If the motorcycle is completely stripped except for a power wire to the coil, add the kill switch between the generator (wire coming out of the motor) and the coil.

My talon line trimmer starts ok but after about 30 sec stalls. It starts ok again but the same stalls after 30 sec

you are not getting enough fuel. I have seen many small engines with this exact same symptom. You can take the little carburator apart, get a new diaphram, try to clean out the little channels with carb cleaner and they still won't get enought fuel. easy way to use this type is to use the choke in the half on or partly on to get more fuel into the motor. I have used this "choke on" type of fix on several units and it works o.k but can be a little tricky to get use to. Also you can try to clear the jets by carefully turn the running jet to the completely closed position. count how many turns it takes ( I usually count in half turns) to close the jet all the way (turn clockwise) then back out to original positon. caution never over tighten the jet. this could distort the brass and ruin the jet. Just take it down to closed then back it out and many times this will clear the jet. If this seems to work you may have to repeat this process from time to time to keep the jet cleared out. You can use this "jet clear" along with the "choke on" to get more fuel into the engine and keep the motor going good enough to make the trimmer work.

Starting problems . never used it before just need simple instruction

  1. Fill the tank with fresh properly mixed fuel.
  2. If equipped turn the switch to RUN or ON
  3. Make sure the tank is full of fresh fuel mixed per directions.
  4. pump the primer bulb until resistance is felt and fuel is seen pulsing through the lines without bubbles.
  5. pull the cord sharply and repeatedly until the motor "hits" on one of the pulls
  6. set the choke half closed
  7. pull the cord sharply until the motor fires and idles.
  8. allow the engine to idle until it will warms up and will idle when you slide the choke all the way open.

I have a TB465ss weed eater. It was running fine last time I used it. Now when I pull the rope it stops half way. It does not turn the motor and I cannot start it. Anyone have an idea what is wrong

Sounds like you have fuel leaked into the cylinder. Remove the spark plug, empty it out, pull the rope a few times to force out the excess fuel, dry the plug off and put it back in. Don't put the choke on, open the throttle all the way up, and she should start. Remember, liquid doesn't compress, and sometimes changes in temperature or atmospheric pressure can push fuel through the system and into the cylinder.

Husqvarna 350 wont stay running?

ok,  The choke is used to change the air/fuel mixture by "choking" off the air that goes to the carburator.  The choke is only used to get the motor running in cold temperatures.  Once the motor is started, the choke must be opened or the motor will flood and stall when you open the throttle.    I hope this solves your problem.  Best wishes, Michael Mittelsdorf
