My xbox doesn't read the disk no matter what I try

Try spraying cleaning alcohol on the disk, and wipe it clean.
If that doesn't work, give more information.
Have you modded your Xbox 360 before?
When did you buy the disk, and where?

you should try cleaning it with an actual dvd cleaning disc. if that doesn't work you may need to get a replacement drive and swap them out.

Try cleaning the disk, if that doesn't work, try another disk, if that doesn't work, then turn the xbox off, take the hard drive out, put it back in, then try playing the game again.

the clicking is the lazer head bouncing back after trying to read the disc put a lazer disc cleaner through the unit several times to clean the laser head and you should be right if this does not work then get the head cleaned by a pro

the magnet that pulls the tray up has most likely come loose go on youtube and there are videos showing hoe to fix it

Hello my friend, Regarding this matter, my recommendation is first try to clean your xbox 360 using cleaner disk. In that way, you can be sure that if next time you insert a disk it surely read unless the disk laser reader is the problem. Then try to insert Disk in your xbox 360 but if it works then try another disk if new disk is better and if you try this step 3 - 4 times then try to contact your supplier or the store that supply's your xbox then ask support or ship it back to them. Also you can find technician to fix your problem but i recommend shipping back the unit to the supplier for futher check up and if the unit is really the problem then they can replaced it.  Hope this matter helps your problem.  If you need more assistance just reply to this post.

Ok, this is optical lens assembly failure. the lens is burned out and unable to scan due to lens failure. simply replacing the dvd rom optical lens assembly will restore the reading ability of your unit.

Have you tried using a lens cleaner? If you don't have a lens cleaning disk, take a cotton bud and, VERY GENTLY, brush the lens free of dust or lint. Be careful though not to press down on it, as this might render the lens, and hence your xbox, inoperable.
I would advise buying a lens cleaning disk for such cleaning though.
