N64 game freezing

My copy of Mischief Makers for the N64 started freezing almost right after I get it to start up. It was working fine a few days ago, but now its doing the freezing and it never did it before. I noticed that now it smells weird. I dont have this problem with any of my other games. How do I fix it? I dont want to get a new copy unless the one I have now is totally gone.

Also, I have tried cleaning the game with a cue-tip and alcohol, but it made no difference.

Well its the console thats making the burning smell becuase its a power supply failure warning or its over heating for this to happen. I had my N64 console for 14 years and never heard of this before. I has to be the console or the ac adapter then.

My nintendo 64 starts up and it freezes a few seconds after it starts...sucks

Well I had a similar issue with my aua n64 console but not the black one so maybe the expansion pack is doing it and also if the ac adapter smells burnt then its possible that the adapter isn't giving out the right power or if the voltage is low it can sometimes cause stalling or try putting the gamepacks in halfway instead it works for me. Or clean the gamepacks out with qutips and rubbing alcohal.

My N64 has been having the same problem lately with my Majora's Mask game losing sound, the picture going weird and eventually freezing this happens aprox 1 to 2 hours after i start playing the game. What...

Does this happen with other games? If so, it's the console, becasue working N64 consoles are difficult to find. If not, it is the cartridge, and you might want to clean it.

My 360 is freezing up a little.

I've heard that when you put discs in the 360 and have the machine perpendicular to the ground, scratches sometimes occur. From my own personal experience, physically moving the 360 while playing a disc can sometimes cause scratches. I'd call 1-800-4-MYXBOX and ask them about it. Try their tech support and hopefully any fixes fall within your warranty or are easier than that. I'm sure that they'd be glad to help. Good luck!

My n64 wont work

Well I am currently having a similar problem with my aqua N64 console and my black N64 console. So it could be the ac adapter that could be the issue because Im having the same problem sort of with my SNES console so I brought a new ac adapter for my SNES and it works. It could be the same issue with my N64 consoles every thing looks fine on the inside so it has to be the ac adapter then. Or it might of had died on you. Video games consoles are funny at this they are fine the day before and they are not working the next day.

N64 light comes on, but nothing comes on screen

Make sure that the game you are trying to play is free of dust and other obstructions.  I know that the label on the back of the game says that you should never blow on the edge connector, but it doesn't harm the game. (Trust me I've been cleaning the connectors for years now, and it hasn't been damaged.  After you throughly rid the game of dust, do the same with the edge connector on the N64.  Simply hold the opening open and blow the dust out.  This should work.   Please give feedback!! Hope this helps!!

N64 freezes while playing

The Nintendo 64 is notorious for overheating problems.  This is a very common problem.  With my N64, I play it while a fan is blowing on it.  This usually prevents the problem.  Try this method.  It should work.
Hope this helps!!

Please give feedback.

Your game or game data is corrupt/ dirty. Try using compressed air to clean your N64 game port and the game.

System won't read games and makes buzzing noise

Is it a copied disk? this only happens to those types of disk. Try contacting Microsoft.

N64 Blinking on and off

It seems like an issue with the cartridge slot (as in there's a bad connection somewhere, causing the connection with the cart to be lost, then restored, then lost... etc). Try giving it a good blast with a can of compressed air or possibly go over it with a Q-tip soaked in glass cleaner or 50% isopropyl alcohol.

It may also be an issue with the power cable. I have a similar problem with my Genesis resetting and turning off. It turned out to be caused by a faulty, loose, power cable. Try finding another power cable for your N64 and see if it makes adifference.
