Have cleaned the ink pads, cleared code 343. ink count is 0. But Alarm still flashes. But prints in test mode.

Refer to my invoice 66052. Still awaiting answer.

Best solution-Reset counter. Mine has never leaked!! These Ink pads are large and dry out on their own..so they hold alot more than it says. Just reset the counter and keep printing. The printer will break or be obsolete before it the pads are full.

Reset counter per these instructions:

1) Printer on, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan buttons.
(Now you should be in Service Mode)

2) Select Test mode (last selection) and push Set button.

3) Select #8 Printer Test (does something like cleaning) should now say "8-2" or "8-3"

4) Use + or - bottons to select "8-3" and push Set button.
( Should show "EEPRON Clear").

5) Select Ink Count (option 0) and press Set button.

6) Press Stop/Reset button followed by the Power button and wait for printer to restart.

7) Go have a good drink for solving this problem!

Honestly,I was quoted $110 fix this problem by the local Canon service center. Since I am a loyal Canon customer, with several Canon items in my office, it was suggested to me by the technician at this service center.....to contact Canon's loyal customer web site. I did this and ended up purchasing a brand new multi-function machine. They gave me two discounts and a new MX310 costs me $95...less than the repair of the MP390.

To fix this problem you must completelt take the machine apart becuse the resevoir is on the bottom plate. There a 2 sponges that must be cleaned and dried. Also the head cleaning station below the print head assembly must be thoroughly rinsed out. Manually rotating the gear ssembly on the left side of the machine will operate th diastolic pump that drain into the bottom--it must run free and clear. This will take about 2 hours labor total. 1 hour to take it apart--rest over night to dry then 1 - 1 1/2 hours to dry. Print tech87

How can I clear or replace the waste ink tank on my multipass MP390?

this is the sequence that worked, and do not worry about the pad, it is a sponge that you can take it out gently yourself, wash it and put it back, no soap or squiz it. do not need to open the printer to do it, can take it out from where you replace the ink tanks.

1)Printer on, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan
Now you should be in service mode from there for waste ink tank reset it is simalar to what has already been posted

2)Select Test mode which is like the last avalabe selection
3)Select #8 Printer Test, it will do something here like cleaning or something then it will come up with some other option this is where it gets a bit confusing cause now all it says is like 8-2 or 8-3 push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit the select button

The menu will now say EEPRON Clear
Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set

Then press Stop/Reset Followed by the power button and then wait for it to restart.

How do I reset waste ink tank full on Smartbase mp390?

Issue: Alarm / Power light flashes orange 8 times consecutively (Waste Ink Nearly Full Error)
Solution: Press the <RESUME/CANCEL> button to clear the error (1700)
Waste ink absorber error 1700
The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that this absorber is nearly full.

Press the <RESUME/CANCEL> button on the printer to clear the error, so you can continue the print job. The printer will need to be serviced as soon as possible.

Error message that the waste ink tank is full

Ok there dont forget to download the MP-Tools.
There no easy way the printers are been made this way so you take them to the shop, but if you are handy with your hands and know what you are doing then you will need to take all apart and take out the ink pads inside the printer and clean them up make sure they nice dry when put back in, then you are going to need a program that you can find on the internet it will be called waste reset tools, or your printer will not work even after you done the clean out.

I am not sure what canon you have so I cant tell you the tools you need for yours, i have got canon MP-Tools on my website if this is the one you need.
with this you can reset the waste ink tank before you do the clean out but remember in time you will need to clean out or it going to be a big mess of ink coming out your printer.

Click Link = http://www.4all2sell.com/reset-tools/MPTool.exe

All I ask is please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Waste ink tank near full

Go about half way down this page and it shows you how to fix this problem.

It will require you to open up the printer to access the "waste tank" which is actually a thick felt pad.

Mp390 waste ink tank...how do I get to the ink tank pads to clean them i need to get it the ink pad to clean it but i can't take aou the cover of my epson cx5600, somebody can tell me how to open it, ?...

A big recommendation is to take it to a service center.

As a service center it takes us about 1 hour. You need to remove the upper cover assembly, the scanner assembly, control panel and wire harness. Back cover needs to come out. The cleaning tube needs to be removed. Unscrew the printer mechanism, and then take it out. Replace the pads, do everything in reverse, go to an epson service center and have them reset the counter for you.

This is how the printer pads are replaced.

Waste ink near full error

Canon's a little shady when it comes to this, since any waste ink pad I've seen never has been more than 30-40% full. You can reset that status without cleaning the waste ink out and the printer should return to normal.

1) On the printer, press Additional Functions, Scan, Copy, Scan. This will put you in service mode.

2) Select Test mode at the bottom

3) Select #8 Printer Test, wait for more options. It should say 8-2 or 8-3; push the + or - button until it says 8-3 then hit Select. The menu will now say EEPRON Clear

4) Select Ink count which is option (0) and press set

5) Press Stop/Reset, then the power button and wait for it to restart.

I hope this helps!
