Really Bad Squeeky Noise

It could be a squeal from the dryer belt. It could be from a belt that has gotten loose, like you hear on a car sometimes when it first starts up, but usually they don't get loose. They just break. Maybe something has gotten jammed between the dryer drum and the interior of the dryer making it hard for the belt to turn the drum and so it is squealing. Does the drum turn by hand without too much force and without squealing?

My dryer drum, when it turns, squeals like it needs oiling, and it is hard to turn. Is there a place to oil it? Should the drum turn more easily?

My Maytag dryer model # LSG7804AAE is making a lot of noise when drying. It is squeaking and if I turn the tumbler by hand it seems very stiff and feels like it is rubbing against something. Thankyou.

Squeaking Noise coming from Dryer

Could be the roller next to the heating element. Heat tends to cause more wear in it. Use some HVAC oil to lube those noisy rollers. 6b5c930.jpg

There is a large squeaking noise when the dryer is turned on.

This could be a couple of issues.
The belt is worn and is slipping and needs to be replaced.
The brake is not disengaging and could just need some oil or be replaced.
The motor is going bad and needs replacing.
The main bearing is going bad and needs to be replaced. I know this is not what you wanted to hear but these are the problems it can be

The drum itself turns on an axle or sprocket. It may need to be oiled. The motor that turns it may be going bad. The windings and bearing could be bad. I assume it is drying O.K.

You need to change your drum rollers. To get to them you take the dryer apart from the front not the back. There are 2 screws where the filter goes in on top. Then pull the top toward you and up. Then remove the 2 - 5/16 inch screws on each side of the front panel about 2 to 3 inches down. Then pull the front up and out. Then you will see everything. Replace the belt, drum rollers, and idler making sure to oil each as you re-install them. Then put back together and your on your way.
