Question about LG enV VX9900 Cellular Phone

7 Answers

FTM mode my cell phone had FTM mode on the screen yesterday; then I rebooted the phone adn it said service required. I did not drop the phone or anything. Also I can not get any of my contacts or pics? Verizon tech support has no idea what is going on. Ray

Yes, the exact same thing happened to me just yesterday: wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary with the phone when next thing I know, it says FTM mode on the screen. The solution already posted here, sadly, doesn't seem to work in my case...

When I turn my enV on, a message pops up saying 'use genuine battery' and 'power off in 10 secs', and it counts down and turns off. What's up with that? Anyone?

Chillax everyone just do this..... ##5473784236368 send then 0000000 that puts you in a programing menu , go to 4. (H/W test) then take it to option 2 (set operation) then move from FTM to internet or offline.

Sorry for very late reply.

I think I have solved this problem at least for myself.

I have used:
1) QPST (Qualcomm Product Support Tool)
2) Data cable for my phone.

Step 1:
Connect your phone to pc (Preferably thru COM/Serial port)

Step 2:
Start > Programs > QPST > RF NV Item Manager.

Go to FILE menu > Read from Phone.
In the left side section click on "453 NV_FTM_MODE". Then on Right side you will see a value of "1", just change it to "0" without quotes and click on Write NV button above it.

Step 3:
Disconnect you phone, Remove the battery, Replace the battery and power on. Thats it. you are done.

Hope this procedure would be helpful.

FTM is field test mode. Has anyone tried to flash your phone software? If you take it to your local store they should be able to restore the software. Im not sure about the pix though.
Good Luck!

Main service menu- h/w test- set operation mode- select online??? Seems to work

Posted on May 13, 2011

Go into your phone's system settings (usually in tools and phone settings, something like that) NOT the service menu again, just the normal one that anybody can get to.

Look for a menu option that says "Standalone Mode." When you find it, turn that feature on, then turn it back off again. Hope that works, it did for me. Good luck!

Samsung gt 1900 no ime baseband problem

Hi Ronaldo

Try this..

  • Open up the dialer and enter - *#06# to check your IMEI number, if you see "IMEI Null or 000000 ", you need to reconfigure the settings to fix the no signal or not registered on network problem on your Android phone.
  • In the dialer, type- *#197328640# or *#*#197328640#*#*
  • You will be prompted into the Command mode, provided On the screen, Select on Common, normally option 6
  • Now Select (FTM) Option 1. FTM (Field Test Mode) is for debugging and testing, if the option is on, you will have to turn this OFF.
  • As soon as you turn this off, your NULL or altered IMEI number will be restored
  • (Important) Without leaving the Command screen, press the Menu key, the button that's found left of the Home button.
  • Select Key input and enter option 2 which will turn your FTM OFF
  • Wait for a minute. Remove your battery and SIM card for two minutes, place your battery in your phone back but not the SIM card. Turn on the device then.
  • When the phone is booted, enter the command mode again dial - *#197328640#
  • Select the Debug Screen, normally option 1
  • After that, choice phone control, option eight
  • Click on nas control, option 3
  • Afterwards, click "RRC (HSDPA), option 5
  • To Fix not registered on network or Null IMEI #, click RRC revision, option 2.
  • Choose the released of your phone, here we will choose option 5 (HSDPA only)
  • The final step to fix Null IMEI # is to turn off your phone and insert your Sim card or else reboot your phone and then insert the SIM card to dial *#06# to see if the IMEI number is restored.

WHAT IF FTM POP UP ON TH SCREEN WHAT DO I DO

FTM is factory test mode. It is enabled by holding down a volume key at the same time as pressing the power key. Solution, jsut make sure you are not holding any keys or have keys stuck down when you power up. If FTM mode is stuck even after removing battery, hold power key for 10 seconds. then it is faulty. contact your dealer for repair

My phone has a red screen and say FTM Mode...what do i do?

Hi,

I got out of FTM the other day by simply turning standalone mode on then off:
Menu / Settings & Tools / System / Standalone Mode.

It's Factory Test Mode, and is supposedly a very good way to turn your phone into a brick. For what it's worth, the QPST FTM App help file says:

The Factory Test Mode (FTM) Radio Frequency (RF) Evaluation Graphical User Interface (GUI) software is used to to test a phone. FTM RF Evaluation GUI is an application used to control a QUALCOMM phone such as a Subscriber Unit Reference Design (SURF) or Form Factor Accurate (FFA) for testing RF in three system modes-CDMA 1x, GSM, and WCDMA.

This application requires Dual-Mode Subscriber Station (DMSS) or Advanced Mode Subscriber Software (AMSS) software with FTM built into it. The FTM mode must be enabled before using the CDMA 1x, GSM, and WCDMA RF controls.

FTM is a mode of operation that allows a user to perform diagnostic or design verification functionality by exposing functions not discretely available to the user in DMSS mode. FTM does not provide the ability to make phone calls and is not driven by the DMSS Call Processing State Machine.

I suggest you contact customer services.
There doesn't seem to be much info about your problem, other than many people seem to have it.

Re: ftm mode on ZTE F102
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had this problem, first there was no signal in a busy city center. I took out the battery and replaced it. Then occurred a white screen with ftm in red letters, all the menus worked but no signal and couldn't access memory card. I thought it was some kind of security lock and took it to the 3 store. The manager claimed he had never seen this error, and should speak to customer services as they would know what to do. I spoke on phone to customer services. They kept me on hold for quite a while, they eventually said it was a zte handset manufacturing error and if i send in the phone they will fix it free of charge. After a lot of wangling they also said they would give me £5 free credit for my time wasted. I sent it in.
I got a letter back, very quickly. they claimed there was liquid damage to the phone, and so it is not covered by warranty. (this is a blatant lie!) If they did not hear from me in 14 days they would send back the phone and i would have to pay £20 for service charges! or they would offer me a refurbished handset at a discounted price. I recieved no further communication from them.
I had to buy another handset. They had not added the £5 they said they would.
I phoned them. They transfered my call to 6 different sections. keeping me on the phone for over 45 minutes. They said i needed to sign up to a 3 contract. (i am on pay as u go) I laughed at this. They refused to call me back. I eventually convinced them to call me back. They said the section dealing with my problem was closed and they will call me back tomorrow. The Indian call center staff were surly and quite frankly rude.
I await there call.

Re: ftm mode on ZTE F102
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
well, they did call back, 1 hour late. The guy immediately put me through, without any explanation, to a mobile phone repair center in scotland, which does not actually deal with '3'.
I was incredulous!
a complete waste of time. not only unhelpful but willfully obfuscating.
i gave up, was too stressful to deal with these 'people'.
my advice - go with another provider.

My mobile phone has three letters were the signal bars should be and they say ftm in red and now i cant do anything with the phone

FTM - factory test mode
Try *228 (send) option 2 to resolve the signal issue. If that doesn't fix it,

depending on the type cell also
Menu / Settings & Tools / System / Standalone Mode switch this to off
