My 330 homelite is shocking me

After changing the coil it started shocking me. I tore it back down and checked the ground wires. I changed the one from the coil to the ground switch and inspected the other one. I'm at a loss. Could it have anything to do with the new coil?

Your new coil may have a crack or some kind of a electrical leak, replace it and go from there

ok if the car was running before you change the gasket check all your ground wires you may leave something off, or not have some wire plug in good, if you have a test light check the engine to see if you have a good ground by clipping the test light on the positive battery post and touch the engine and all ground wires the test light should light up when it make contact then check to see if you have power to the coils,i would try and check here more to find out if you got sort out

My Lawn mower is not starting even after changing and replacing a new spark plug?

First use a known good plug; new doesn't mean good all the time.

You need to check for spark by seeing if the plug or plug wire will arc to ground. When doing make sure insulate to yourself from it as there a 10-15 kv charge on that wire / plug if the coil is working and you will receive a nasty shock.

If no arc then check the ignition coil by removing the kill (stop) wire from the coil and try for again as above. If still no arc then the ignition coil is bad. If you now receive an arc after removing the kill (stop) wire then have either a bad kill (stop) switch or a short in the wiring.

If you replace the ignition coil the air is .010 -.012 normally on most small engines.

2000 blazer wont start

If you don'nt have spark check for power from coil.If theirs no spark coming out of the coil then replace coil.Just pull the coil wire off the distributor side and ground it against metal and have someone else crank it over while you watch for spark.Be careful don't hold wire by hand you will get shocked.

No spark on homelite 330 chainsaw. wire on on\off switch broke. thought to be ground wire. attached to block, still no spark switch in either direction.

The switch grounds the coil and kills the spark. Make sure you dont have a rub through on the wire coming from the coil. Better yet disconnect the coil wire. If this works you will have spark but wont be able to shut it down. Verify good spark, then repair the wire.

Hope this helps, Matt

Weed eater won't start. changed spark plug,

possibly on/off switch-has it gotten wet? Also check where wiring from on/off switch meets the wiring from the weedeater body.Check those connectors/crimps make sure theyre plugged in /right fit and not wet.Make sure youre ground wire is grounded/attatched/screwed to the machine.Ive had a weedeater get wet twice at the on/off switch and had to bring it in the A.C. overnight to really dry out.It worked.Hope this helps. If none of this does then its maybe the coil(semi-internal-no fun) or the fat wire carrying the spark from the plug to the body(semi-internal-no fun).Good luck!

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You don’t have to bend up the electrode. HTH

Car won't start

Did you put a multimeter on the coil and check for voltage coming out of the coil? To do this put the ground lead of the meter on the battery ground, then turn the ignition on and touch the positive lead of the meter to the coil. It should read around 12 volts.
