Question about Dell XPS M1330 Notebook
LED screen, I've had it for almost 2 years, about a year ago (just after warranty expired) the backlight started to sometimes not work when I turned on my laptop, or just opened it while it was sleeping. Sometimes it'll be fine, but most of the time the backlight won't turn on. I can see the screen itself is working, but without the light I can't see good enough to do anything. Hoping I won't have to replace the entire screen?
Really does sound like a backlight problem. They usually don't cost much and are easy to replace if you are good with a screwdriver.

This model laptop uses a CCFL lamp for the backlight, it does not use LEDs for backlighting.
The CCFL lamp is attached to an inverter which supplies high voltage to this lamp.
For details on how to install and or replace CCFL lamps go to
www.lcdparts.net for information and parts.
I assume you are not replacing the whole LCD screen.
