Question about HP PSC 1610v All-in-One Printer

1 Answer

Paper was stuck. Removed half of the sheet. Went in the back of HP Officejet 7310 to remove other half. All hell broke loose after that. Error keeps flashing on and off on and off. Auto answer keeps blinking on and office, exclamation mark, on & off and Print on and off. Don't know what to do. Not computer literate sort of speaking and I just had brain surgery. Can't do too much, and have terrible headache. Is there a way you can slowly walk me through without your losing your patience?? Renee Evers.

I guarantee I won't lose my patience and I will be gentle. I'm a bedbound invalid and have some feeling for people with medical problems.

As long as you are sure the paper is completely removed. Simply switch the printer off and pull out the power plug and connection to the computer. Go put the kettle on and make youself a nice cup of tea or coffee or whatever your beverage of choice is. Sit down and enjoy your cuppa and when it's finished. Return to the battlesite and plug everything back the way it was. Now switch your printer back on and see what happens. If all is normal then maybe a reboot of your computer would be a good idea and when it's back on line see how the printer is going. Try to print something and if it's all OK then job done.

However, if all hell breaks out again You could try swiching off the printer leave it about 10 seconds and turn it back on by holding the power switch on and also holding the on line button down at the same time.
Keep these buttons depressed untill you hear a beep or even a double beep. If there is paper in the printer it should enter a test print phase. See if that works. If nothing happened change the combination of the power switch and the line feed button being held down. It should put you into a printer check. Again with paper in the printer a page of text should print out.
In the event your power switch isn't a push for on and a simple rocker type switch then switch on whilst holding one of those button I mentioned down.

Hopefully you now have a printer behaving itself. If you are out of luck may I suggest someone takes your printer to an authorized repair shop.

I just downloaded your manual and Iwonder if it's possible you didn't replace the plastic box piece you removed to clear the jam properly. Many printer parts have sensore to check everythig is in order. If by chance you forgot or simply missed replacing that part correctly that could be causing problems. I also noticed that they warn not to clear paper jams from the front, always remove that box item and clear it from there.

How to unjam a fax paper

Turn the printer around so that the back is facing you, and open the back panel. There should be two plastic tabs to push and release it. Open the panel and it gives you access to the rear rollers that push the paper through. You will be able to see any paper that is stuck there. Remove it, then push the "ok" or "enter" button on the front and the printer should continue normally.

Error message HP Officejet 7310 "remove and check cartridge on right. Removed cartridge, checked it (nothing), installed it back - still same message. Installed new original HP cartridge - still same...

Can you find a friend with a similar HP printer, i.e., one that accepts the same model-number of ink-cartridge? If the cartridge gives the same error-message in the other printer, it's time to responsibly recycle your "dead" cartridge, and give the brand-new cartridge to your friend, for his/her usage.

HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One Carriage Jam

I think you need to clean the back rollers of the printer.

Follow this hp document and it should clear up the issue. The error is for out of paper but the fix is the same. Step four is the one you need.
