SOURCE: My car stereo flashes the word "PROTECT"

If this happened while playing music at a little higher volume, you must check the speakers for short in coils. disconnect the speakers to see if the protect condition changes, if so check the speakers and wiring. If not then you must have blown up the output IC or a power shorting within the set. You will have to remove the pcb disconnect the power to the output IC to confirm the fault. Helpful I hope. Good day

Last night I was playing a CD and hit a bump and the CD quit playing and the word PROTECT started flashing and now I can't get anything to play or get that PROTECT off there.

Check wiring behind the radio itself, also check speakers and wiring for them. When a radio or an amplifier goes into the protect mode it is protecting itself from an electronic short. If it turns on properly and has been for some time it is not the the power wires, but may very well be a bad speaker or a connection to that speaker.

Trying to play flash drive in USB port on stereo

Make sure that the music files are indeed mp3 format. An iPod will play several different formats but most av head units only play mp3. A lot of the songs that are downloaded from iTunes are actually mp4

Scosche fm transmitter FMTD8 not playing mp3 files on Flash drive

I bought the fmtd8 scosche transmitter. If you're like me ,you tried to play music from you're cell phone first. That worked just fine. Then I made an sd card with a few hundred songs on it. P.S. I left the audio cable plugged in the the transmitter. The sd card with mp3. songs would not play for anything. After 2 days of trying,I finally decided to unplug the audio cable.. Voila!!!!! Instant sound.

Radio flashes (protect)cant get any stations at all

This is an indicator of an output load problem, turn unit off! remove the speaker wires from the back of the stereo, now turn power on and turn the volume down. If the word protect stays off there is a short in the wire or one of the speakers, but! if the word protect comes on " with the speakers and wires dis-connected " it indicates a short in the audio output ic pack in the stereo.

My Kenwood car stereo keep falshing the word "Protect" how to fix

in front of your #1 preset button there is a reset button push it with a pin. if you made a pass # put it in if not page 12 show you how to make one if you want. reseting it should make it work if it dont you have a short somewhere start from scratch buy taking it out. I suggest you dont make a password till the short is gone. Mine did the same thing but because i was pulling to much power on starting my car with my amps.

CD changer will not play reads "player error" .

Most new car-stereo's don't have an "oldschool" CD-drive, but really a CD-ROM drive; meaning that they won't (properly) read and/or play copy-protected CDs.

Most CD protections are specially designed not to work in CD-ROM drives to prevent copying. As a side-effect most of those protected CDs won't work in car-stereo's.

Try a CD without copy-protection (like an homemade audio CD using burning software on your computer) and see it that works ?

In case that doesn't work either, your car's CD-drive is probably broken ...
