According t the insturctions it says that as sonn as I put the memory stick on the back that I should start seeing the pictures. This not happening. I checked the pictures on the memory stick and they are there in a JPEG format. Is there a way to reset the pandigital 7 inch to it's original factory set up or download a program that corrects any glitches?

    Thanks

If I understood correctly you put some photo files on the memory usb stick ...and now they are not seen by the frame...In this case be sure first that the files are on the stick and the transfer from the computer to it was successful and you did not transferred just some shortcuts or other kinda files...to do that insert the stik into the computer and verify the files one by one ....a photo must have at least 1M size ...and if there are less better make a compare with the original files to be the same size..in this way you will be sure the files are actually on the stick ...be sure the files on the stick are not write protected ..for this right click on them properties and remove any checked cases ...
after you have been sure that the memory stick has the files..and they are photo files..(Jpeg) insert into the frame ...and look for them into the menu ...and choose the folder for what to diplay ..
if the frame works with files from its internal memory ..it had to work with the stik too...
another thing that I sow on the pandigital review page ..is that sometimes when you transfer it re-sizes the bigger photos to save space ..so be patient and let it find the files ...If the files are on the memory stick..they have to be seen on the frame ..if this one is functional..probaly you just have to choose the right way to diplay them

    1. Press the SETUP button from the Home screen, an on-screen SETUP menu
    opens.
    2. Use UP and Down arrow button to Select Media Source.
    2. Use the Arrow buttons to highlight the desired memory card.
    3. Press the SELECT button to select the card.
    4. Press BACK to go back to Home screen.
    5. Highlight Photo and press ENTER. The Thumbnails screen opens.
    6. Press the COPY ALL button.
    7. Once the copying is complete, a “transferring and Finished!” dialog will
display on the middle of the screen.
try this way ..but instead of copy ..choose display ..or slide show ...see if at least they are recognized..
I dont thing the a firmware reinstall will be needed..but just to work a little with the menu ...
the reinstall of the firmware is delicate and complicate procedure..and it may end up with permanent damages...at least lets see if this way works ..or at least let us copy from the stick in internal memory ..maybe te stick is formatted in a way non compatible with the frame...

First, make sure that the memory card is one of the formats listed above and
that the files on the card are JPEG images files. Second, turn the Digital
Photo Frame Off and make sure that the memory card is inserted all the way
into the card slot and is facing the right direction. Third, turn the Frame On.
After a couple of seconds, you should see your first photo. Press Exit to open
the Card Selection screen and select the card. Then select Photos. You
should see the Thumbnails screen listing all photos on the card. If you don’t,
you may want to try another card.
this is from the actual manual ...so , you understoo wrong..they will not display right the way ..you have to turn off insert proper..the stick ..turn on ..and in this moment it will show you the same picture there was on the frame...press exit to see the memory units and select te stick ...only in this moment you will display the pictures form the stick
I will get back after I find the right format for the stick...this in case the stick is not formatted in the suitable way to be seen by the frame...

if it is not seen ..use the computer to format the stick in FAT ..get all files form it first cause it will be lost in the process ...after that right click on the stick icon in the my computer folder..choose format ...select FAT...and ok..this will format the stick in FAT for sure ..be sure is not FAT 32 or ..NTFS..cause Im not sure the frame will see it ...

try to restart it ...or give it time...maybe it needs time to see all the media inside..
also be sure you do not have other kinda files on the stick ..this may block it cause it do not see the files extensions...of that kind ..anyway if it seen the usb device this is a good sign ...in the end you will figure out how to open it ..
I mentioned earlier formatting the stick ...this is worth trying cause you never know ..what might stop it from opening the device..

Maximum load to vq0701p 7" digital picture frame

What you call a 64 gigabyte flash memory stick, must be a 64 gigabyte memory card. You picture frame only can hold SD, XD, MS, MSPro and MMC cards.
If you look carefully on your memory card it will say SDXC and your frame is not compatible with these huge memory.
I know MMC, SD SDHC and SDXC all look the same, although the MMC has some more contacts on the back.
MMC is from about 8 Mega byte till 512 Mega byte.
The SD cards go up to and including 2 Giga byte.
The SCHC cards are more than 2 Giga Byte up to and 32 Giga byte The SDXC cards are more than 32 Giga byte up to and including 2 Tera byte. Although now there are none available of the highest capacities.
The cards not only differ in capacity, but also differ in working voltages and signalling voltages.
You can find all specifications of SD cards on the internet, but some computer knowledge and a little knowledge of electronics would be nice to read these papers.
The development of these memory cards is going so fast, because there are also speed issues, when you use these for stills or for video and so on.
I'm afraid you can't use your card for more than 2 Giga byte, if your picture frame allows that. But even I can't give any guaranty.

I managed to buy two 4 Giga byte SD cards recently, because I sometimes have to test older equipment. But these two are rarities. Most 2Giga byte cards in the shops already are SDHC, and perhaps will have the same problem, when you put these in your picture frame.

I have a Philips PhotoFrame - SPF3408/G7 (SPF3408T/G7). When plugged in no picture comes on screen. Screen does not light up. I viewed pictures yesterday - but - I don't get anything today. I know...

Keep in mind that Digital Photo Frame can display the same photo continuously for 1000 hours without any damage to the LCD screen.
If you can enter to the settitgn menu, first make sure the system is properly powered. Then use a pin to trigger the reset button located on the side of the power button on the back to restore the system...

zjlimited_475.gif

If this isnt work try...
  1. Load all the photos you want to upload to the Photo Frame in the root directory of your memory card.
  2. Power off your Photo Frame by pressing the Power button.
  3. Insert the memory card into the slot in the frame.
A For a Compact Flash card, firmly slide card in the larger slot end first and face down.
B For an xD, SD, MMC, or Memory Stick card slide card in the smaller slot end first and face up until it locks into place.
zjlimited_476.gif

  1. Restart Photo Frame by pressing the Power button.
  2. After a few seconds, all photos in the root directory of the memory card will be automatically added to Photo Frame. The root directory on memory card will not be emptied after this operation.

Please do not remove the memory card just after inserting it in Photo Frame or when Photo Frame is counting the Photo.
Wait until the screen is stable.

NOTE: This operation does not apply to photos in sub-directories.

If anyone of this procedures work fine, I suggest contact your local service (check if even is underwarranty).

Good luck.

Cannot get my photos from memory stick to progess beyond the 1st 5 photos. they keep repeating. I never had a manual.

Hi there.

1st) How did you put the photos on your stick? Did you load them from a computer, or did you load them off a camera?

If you loaded them off a camera, did you format the card before you took the pics, or before transferring them from the camera's internal memory? You have to do format the memory card from the camera menu before it will work properly.

If you used a computer, same thing, you need to format the stick before you transfer photo's to it. Try it and let me know.

I can't load photos onto my digital photo frame

The  A701 is  a bit cranky.  I've found that it prefers  USB  flash sticks of upto  2GB. It likes the flash stick formatting  before use.  And it prefers  jpg files  added  to the root directory of the flash stick -  so  no images in folders. Finally but probably least important, it's not much point uploading  2MB  jpgs as  the screen  is pretty much  72DPI  smaller size JPGS  lead to a faster loading. ( try  around 900x 600 dpi )

What model is it? Some have internal memory, many do not. If it does not have internal memory than you can only view pictures from your memory stick or card.
