Question about Philips 37PF7320A 37 in. HD-Ready LCD Television

1 Answer

Almost as like a vertical hold problem?

Display is not rolling but shows multiple images of the same picture at a very unstable rate.
My Philips tv (model # 37pf7320a/37b) has a picture similar to a bad Vertical hold. The tv was on when it started. I had left the room for about ten minutes and came back to the bad picture. It does this on all sources. It even does it on the menu screen. I've tried turning it off and on, unplugging it and waiting, and resetting the tv to factory settings via the menu. Apparently, its done this before, but it fixed itself after a couple of days. We just cut it on and off every now and then and one day it was working fine until now. I'm looking to find out exactly how to get the picture back to normal without waiting on it to right itself.

here is a video of it: http://s67.photobucket.com/albums/h304/reyno626/?action=view¤t=TVproblem.flv

There may be a failure occuring in the sync section for the video and scan processing. The fault is probably thermo sensitive by the way you are describing it.

The service tech will determine the board with the fault, and replace the board.

Frequent but not all times rolling of the picture vertically in Philips TV 29PT5507/94

Replace all the electrolytic capacitors [ 5 0r 6 of it] at its vertical scan output section circuit. Check the supply filter capacitor connected to the main supply voltage to vertical output IC; and replace it too. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic / Flip card, can be selected by the drop-down list, by the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name / model number / IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

I cant stop the tv monitor screen from jumping it has something with the dvr

Hello What type of TV do you have, analog or digital? If you have an analog TV and the screen is rolling it is the vertical hold. Because the vertical hold operate on 60 cycle which the same as AC line cycle. The 60 cycle in the vertical hold is as a oscillator or timing circuit. When the TV pick up the image for the NV devise, they just don't mix. Why, because image intensifier tube in the NV devise is operation at 25 to 50K Hz or cycles. The vertical hold circuit pick up on the 50K Hz signal which mixes with 60 cycle timing circuit causing the screen to rolling with lines across the screen @ 60 cycles. Digital camera and digital camcorder with digital TV will help, or a image inverter that takes this 50k Hz signal and covert it to some that analog TVs can use. GB...stewbison

Philips TV 20CT2235/00Z, picture is suddenly rolling vertically. What is wrong?

The vertical hold section of the TV has gone faulty, a component has developed a problem and needs to be repaired. This usually is a job for a serviceman. Ensure you get a firm "Quote" before starting any work.

The picture on my TS-4573 rear projection tv has started to roll vertically at a fast rate. How can I make this stop. On old tv's there was a vertical hold adjustment on the back that you could play with...

this fault is caused by defective electrolytic capacitors in the vertical deflection circuits, they need to be changed out, do this before it causes more problems, there are no adjustments for this anymore.

Rolling of picture

Hi,
You camera is PAL and you are attaching with Ntsc TV or VCR. Both Pal and Ntsc are different systems and incompatible to each other.
If you want to see correct playback of your Camera, it requires Pal or Multi-System color TV.

Vertical hold will adjust the frequency (refresh) which would remedy it if the picture was rolling. I had to open up my TV (not recommended unless you know what you're doing) and adjust a "pot" which will adjust your screen's hourglass problem. I hope this helps.

When viewing images on TV the picture is vertically rolling.

Check the video setting in the set-up menu. It may be set to PAL if you are on the NTSC system, or vice versa. Also check the TV input to ensure your're on the correct channel.
