I'm answering you from my laptop, that has exactly the same problem. I just keep trying until it powered up. IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOUCH THE KEY BOARD AFTER WINDOWS IS UP. With the touch pad verify the keyboard in control panel/hardware and notice that it is missing, also check device manage and will not appear either. What I did and solve my problem was a system restore to a previous date before the problem appear. go to accessories/system tools/ system restore. thats worked for me

Good luck

If you installed a new battery in your Dell computer and still can't get it to charge, there is a strong possibility that there is something wrong with the charging system

My dell Latitude D510 starts up, but the screen remains black.

Check the lights on the power LED. If it is steady green and there is no display then your computer is clearing POST, and there might be a Video card or screen backlight issue.
However, if the light is blinking green or amber etc then its a post issue and you will need to get the computer checked by a hardware technician.

My dell d510 latitude battery light flashes green once then red three times Please help me Thanks colin

The battery is beginning to fail. After about 18 months or so the battery performance will begin to degrade. A battery replacement is most likely in order.

Restart always

sounds like a reload of the operating system, and or your hard drive is corrupt. See if it will boot into safe mode (F8) on startup. You can also run diagnostics on it by holding down the FN key when you push the power button and see what happens.
