I just purchased a used micro innovations wireless keyboard. What kind of adapter do I need and how can I get the driver and user guide?

You should have received a sensor unit when you purchased the keyboard. Unless you have this I'm afraid the keyboard is useless. The keyboard I'm using to type this is a wireless type but the sensor is built into the actual computer so the keyboard is of no use to anyone unless they have the same type computer. I've never seen a sensor on it's own without the keyboard at auctions but I've seen plenty of keyboards without sensors.
The sensor can be in many forms but usually it's a half round module with a flat face which points toward the keyboard and has a cable attached with a USB plug on the end.
I'd be returning to where you got the keyboard and asking for the module. If it's not available, ask for a refund as it's of no use as it is. Maybe the seller didn't realise the module actually went with the keyboard and still has it. It's worth a try.
If you do get hold of the module write back and I will then try to track down the driver although your computer may recognize the sensor and have the driver ready to go. Often just plugging it in Windows will recognize it and load it all for you. A user guide isn't really necessary as it's just a matter of plugging in your sensor loading or let windows load the driver, pop a battery or two (usually AAA type) in the keyboard, pressing the one and only button on the bottom of the keyboard to sync the keyboard to the remote and away you go. All you have to do is replace the batteries when prompted or the keyboard becomes erratic or stops working. BUT try to get that module first or your money back.

As a last resort you could possibly try the manufacturers or importers for a spare module.

your device should have come with a cd with software and drivers on it. you need to run the cd and then it should work. In many cases Windoews will automatically recognize wireless equipmet and find the drivers needed.

I have a Compaq computer and keyboard and a wired Micro Innovations (mini) mouse. I also have a Micro Innovations wireless optical mouse. How do I hook up the wireless to work?


For the wireless mouse to work with your computer, make sure that it has a bluetooth capability in it. This is how your computer will communicate with your wireless mouse. If it does not have bluetooth, see if your wireless mouse came with a bluetooth dongle. If it does, connect the dongle, download the driver and the pc should detect your wireless mouse.

Plug the sensor into the usb port, and then pop the cd that came with it into the comptuer, run it, and it will guide you though your set up.. Then restart your computer and it should work.

GOt the same keyboard and trying it right now, and must say feel kind of weird and I'm a good typer. Sometimes keys won't work, then you have to press them several times and then they work and it's like it never was a problem; this looks to me like a reception/processing problem, not mechanical in the keys themselves. Mouse is OK so far, just don't like the feel of the two side buttons (back and forth) on the left, because they feel wobbly and screechy and cheap, not comfortable.

Mouse roller is good, and keys on the board have a soft sound when you type, both things that I like. The keys are like notebook keys. And the board is nice and small and sleek, and takes up a lot less space than the wireless logitech combo I also have.
