Question about Garden

1 Answer

Ryobi miter saw will not turn off no matter what position it is in or if the trigger is pressed or not. It stays on and is tripping the circuit breaker - but it is tripping the breaker for a good reason, as there is a burning smell. Is there any hope for this or is it garbage?

Hi,
From what you are saying the motor probably is going bad and the high amp draw from that has weldded the contacts on the trigger. So you probably have two problems and the bigger one is the motor....
Yes, till you replace the motor and the trigger, you will probably have more into the old saw then a new one wold cost ya...

My saw won't run when I press the switch trigger.

First, check the outlet it's plugged into.
Power cords can go open, try holding the trigger (careful), and bend the power cord near the plug, and near the saw.
Trigger switches can go out.
saw motors can go out.

How do I fix the spring on the switch for a 10 inch ryobi miter saw? I can hear it rattling around and the switch won't work. Also plastic screws holding handle together are broken.

Hello Anonymous,
First locate the model number of your Ryobi Miter saw... then search Google for Ryobi Miter saw replacement parts... one result I got is below:
http://www.mastertoolrepair.com/ryobi-power-tool-parts-ryobi-miter-saw-parts-c-873_895_937.html
Try that link, select your Ryobi saw model and zoom into the provided drawings so you can locate the switch, screws, and spring (if needed). The part numbers are supplied and you can order them online easily on that same link... Then just repair your saw with the new parts. As you already noticed, the saw is easy to disassemble and get access to the parts for repair. Have fun and good luck...

The only way to turn the saw off is to unplug it. Ryobi 10 inch sliding compound miter saw model TSS100L

You may be able to take the handle apart and, using compressed air, blow any sawdust out of the handle and switch but most likely you'll have to replace the switch.

Ryobi compound miter saw stopped working, smoked a bit, and blew a fuse. Now it turns on, laser works, but does nothhing when you hold the trigger down. What now?

Could be one of the field coils have gone open circuit when the fuse blew. You might also have an armature problem that caused the problem in the first place. You will have to strip the tool and examine armature and field coils. use multimeter to con check windings.

My 10 inch miter saw will not turn off when I release the trigger.

Get some Paslode tool cleaner and spray it all around the crevices of the trigger using the tube(straw) provided, while pulling the trigger back and releasing several times. You have debris in the mechanism.

How do i unlock the safety position on my Ryobi miter saw?

There should be a metal pin on the back left side(tool facing you) near the pivot point. Just pull this in or out to lock/unlock the safety position.

How do you change the blade in a Ryobi 2000 watt mitre saw?

Ihave the same saw and i like it a lot. There is awrench that clips in near the handle that fits the bolt also there is a lockon the front of the saw under the trigger that needs to be press in this will lock the shaft . The bolt is left handed so you have to turn it clock wise to loosen its the oppisite a normal thread so it dosn't loosen whale you are opperating it. Pull back the blade gaurd loosen the bolt remove note the way the washers come off theres only way they fit so look at them as your removeing them . Put the new blade on the outer washer push the shaft lock bottem tighten and its ready to use.
