I have HP LaserJet Enterprise 700 color MFP M775dn ptinter and i forgot the username and password to access the setting through the web, any way to reset it please ?

You will need to perform a partial clean. Turn off the printer. Turn it on and watch to boot up on screen closely. When the black line appears under the HP logo, touch the HP logo. Display will go to a black and blue display. Use the arrows on screen to scroll down to administration, select partial clean and press ok, and then press back arrow until continue appears on screen. Press ok and unit will restart. You will lose most of your settings this way but you have no other choice.

DCP-340CW MACHINE ERROR 46 the Photo Capture and red exclamation mark lights...

Clean the ink overflow pads you will have to almost take the printer to bits, they are underneath the print head dock position, these cost about £25

In the mean time you can RESET this purge count back to zero using theMAINTENANCE 80 menu, to continue using the printer for a while untilyou get the new pads. But it on a tray as if they are full they maystart to leak onto your desk....

1 . Press (MENU) (MONO START)then (^) OR <the up arrow> four times, the Photo Capture and RedExclamation Lights will then flash.

2. Press (^) eight times until you see <8> then press (SET)
3. Press (^) twice until you see <0> then press (SET)

You will now be in MAINTENANCE 80.

4.Press the (MONO START) its a toggle until you see PURGE:6451 ( I guessthis means you have cleaned the heads over 6,450 times their thresholdlevel.) you will need to enter the code <2783> to RESET it.

5. Press (^) twice until you see < 2 > then press (SET)
5. Press (^) eight times until you see < 7 > then press (SET)
5. Press (^) nine times until you see < 8 > then press (SET)
5. Press (^) four times until you see < 3 > then press (SET)

The Printer will beep then reset counter will be at ZERO <0000000>

Its the PURGE that will increment by a variable amount each time youclean the print heads the amount will be between 100 and 130. When thiscount gets to about 64,000 the error 46 will occur. That's about 510times you can clean the heads before the pads need cleaning.

Almost forget to EXIT the Maintenance mode enter 9 twice by using theup arrow & set key's to exit from maintenance mode in the same wayas entering the 2783 code, or power down the printer.

Even though my black cartridge is full, my black and white documents are so light they are unreadable. My color cartridges are close to being empty. Can this be the cause?

printers use all cartridges to get the correct colour even black
best get a new colour cartridge then realign the printer with a test pattern

Printer will not print colour

This could be your default print settings telling the printer to use mono all the time. Go into control panel or Devices and Printers, get the printer queue up, or the settings if you can remember where they are (i forgot!), click Printer then click properties. In the option tabs at the top, if it's the correct driver for the printer you should find an option under general called Preferences. Click this and you should find the default settings for the printer including paper sizes and colour/mono printing modes.

Hope this helps?

Try cleaning the black printer heads several times in a row, at least 5 times then print a black document with best quality setting.
Press the ink button, then down to select select cleaning and then press menu/set and menu/set again to select black.

Corona wire needs adjusting

Of you need to remove the toner cartage the if you look on the roller side of it you will see a tiny yellow tab on the right side I believe that is the corona wire cleaning tab. You press down or hold on to it and slide it back and forth left to right thus cleaning the corona wire.
Also the message corona wire needs cleaning often is displayed close to the end of the toner life so after cleaning and reseating the toner back in the printer wait for it to self test 10 sec or so and the press three times the blue large (only) button on the printer. You need to press it at a good speed for the printer to respond. Press to fast it won't work.
This will give you a printer setting page on it the toner life will be displayed along with estimated drum life and good deal of other information.

Display says Unable to clean and wil not clear.

When you have purged , cleaned the print heads, your Brother Printer about 6,450 times it will be unable to print anymore. This is because they recommend that the printer is serviced this will cost you up to £120 (not bad for a printer that costs £60 NOT!!!)

The simple way is to spend £25 and buy your own replacement pads if you are up to taking the printer apart, see service manual this is hard to get hold of as are these instructions !!!!

In the mean time you can RESET this purge count back to zero using the MAINTENANCE 80 menu, to continue using the printer for a while until you get the new pads. But it on a tray as if they are full they may start to leak onto your desk....

1 . Press (MENU) (MONO START) then (^) OR <the up arrow> four times, the Photo Capture and Red Exclamation Lights will then flash.

2. Press (^) eight times until you see <8> then press (SET)
3. Press (^) twice until you see <0> then press (SET)

You will now be in MAINTENANCE 80.

4. Press the (MONO START) its a toggle until you see PURGE:6451 ( I guess this means you have cleaned the heads over 6,450 times their threshold level.) you will need to enter the code <2783> to RESET it.

Jet clogging

Hi,
Clean the printer head with a cloth or absorbent cotton or clean tissue. It may have been clogging because it was not use for many days. It needs cleaning always when printer was not use for a longer period of time.

Set your printer to cleaning then test print. if same problem persist perform deep cleaning. I have tried it many times and It works.
