I have an olevia 532. the dvd does not play through the tv or stereo speakers. can u assist w/proper connections?
Hi,
Just exchange two red-white wires as I mention in brackets:
Cables are connected as thus:
1) Red & White cables from the Stereo Tuner connected to the TV
"Component 1"
{{ put these wires
in TV Audio Output jacks to get tv sound in stereo tuner speakers }}
2) Red, White & Yellow cables from the Satellite box (Left Audio,
Right Audio and Video) connected to the TV L, R, AV - color coded.
{{ this is OK }}
3) Red, White & Yellow cables from DVD player connected to TV audio
output connections.
{{ these wires
should be hooked in Component-1 Input of TV, dvd will show picture in component-1
if it sets on progressive scan mode }}
However, the DVD does not play through the TV. When I source to
Component 1....the display is blank.

Below image shows how to hook up wires at rear of tv.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

Above is a user manual.
Ok please find a manual link above, in there it shows you with pictures, how to "Hook up".
Usually, you have 3 Type of Connections, Composite, Component & HDMI. Now with Composite, Connection, that uses the Yellow, Video, the AV Audio, Red & White. Uses 3 Cables. Now Component, use Green, Red, & Blue, ALL Video, also the AV, Audio, Red & White. With Component, you need 5 Cables. now HDMI, usually use only ONE Cable to connect, HOWEVER sometimes, you need to gain, use the AV, Red & White. ALL cables go Color to Color. And they are Selected via the EXTERNAL Inputs on the TV. So you hook up, with the correct cables, select the correct external input, and press play on the DCD.
I can help you troubleshoot your Olevia 532H HDTV & DVD connections.
One way to connect your DVD player is directly to your TV.
In this case, run and HDMI cable from the DVD player to the TV. Both sounds and picture will be carried along this one cable.
Another way to connect your DVD player directly to your TV is through Component cables. This would use three connections for picture (red, blue, green) and two for audio (red-right, white-left). The connection on the back of your TV looks like this:
By connecting your dvd player to your tv through HDMI or Component video & audio connections, you will hear and see your DVD by selecting the appropriate video source using the SOURCE button on your remote control.
To troubleshoot your stereo speakers, I would need to know its model number. I recommend setting up your TV first, then add bigger sound once it is working with your DVD.
I hope that helps.

"Composite 1" displays on TV as "OFF". How do I turn it "ON"?
