The problem most likely would be the seal for the pump has gone out and water has gotten into the motor bearings. In this case the best repair is to replace the sump assembly with the motor. The part runs about 150.00.

The other cause could be something has gotten caught in the sump that is too hard for the 'chopper' to cut up, this does not hurt anything other than to make noise, it may eventually flush down the drain, or you can disassemble the pump and clean it out. If you want to do that let me know, I will try and guide you through it.

My samsung dishwasher has a constant buzz that occurs during start up and lasts through all of the cycles. I saw where there is an electrical noise filter and did not know if that could be the cause.

No a noise filter is a different kettle of fish. That stops electrical interference noise from affecting your television, radios and electrical devices.

The most likely source of the hum is the start capacitor on the motor, or the motor itself.

This has a different idea

Humming or Grinding If your Samsung dishwasher makes noise when starting that sounds like a low hum, it's part of normal function. The motor makes this sound as it operates throughout the wash cycle. However, a dishwasher making loud humming noise or grinding sounds could mean that debris is caught in the drain pump.

This says the drain pump, but the drain pump only runs to empty out so it wouldn't do it all the time.

My Bosch Dishwasher shx43M05UC shx43M05UC/53 makes a grinding noise when I first turn on dishwasher and it is pulling in water. Any suggestions? Cycle still runs and dishes are clean.

Grinding noises can be the pump or grate system that dissolves food chunks. Check the sump area and see if any bones or other hard objects are there. The issue might also be related to a valve noise on the water valve.

Grinding sound in FGHD2472PF frigidaire professional

Hello friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher is making a grinding noise. Typically that noise could be a faulty motor/pump. I have included a link to your manaul. If that does not help I would recommend having a technician out to your home to properly diagnose and repair your appliance. Best of luck. -Matt

My lgis making a horrible noise and is now shoeing an e1 code dishwasher

The LG does suffer from "poor quality" motor that causes this type of noise. The main motor and pump assembly is common to give this type of problem. The pump seal leaks a small amount of water that gets onto the front bearing and causes a "grinding = humming" noise. This can be easly replaced once you have the bottom off and dishwasher on its door. The motoe has 1 screw in the back holding the motor to the bottom and two rubber seals for the water pump in/out into the washer. Just pull and move motor and pump assmbly and it comes free. Replace with a new motor and pump assembly...

Making loud noises when washing, nothing is obstructing the top and bottom wash arms and the dishes are clean when the cycle is over.

Is there a chance the dishes are moving when the machine is on? Cound the water jets(spraying the door and sides) be the cause of the noise. Is the sound insulating blanket on the outside of the machine? Try running empty on a shor cycle to help diagnose the problem.

LG Dishwasher making grinding noise then blinking E1 code 10 minutes later

Well done by resolving this problem. The other way to avoid the siphoning problem through the drain hose is adding an air gap valve/connector (available at any hardware store). You can use it even if you don't have a garbage disposal in your kitchen sink. That will assure that you have the proper height of the drain hose.
Hope this helps!
