Question about Toshiba 53H71 53 in. Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Touch focus error will not correct

We just recently purchased 2 things, 1) brandnew stereo speakers that sit right next to the TV. 2) Wii console, in which the TV has been moved away from the wall a few times. We get bad shadowing with red and blue outlines, almost double vision-like. Can we fix this problem or do we have to call in a service? My husband is pretty handy and could probably fix it if explained how to. We get touch focus error everytime I try to use this feature. Thank you, Debbie

Where would we purchase something like this? Sounds easy enough.

If the touch focus isnt working and the picture has a 3D look you will need to change the conversion ICs. This is a straight forward repair just unsolder the old and solder in the new. You will need to replace both. They are located on a large aluminum heatsink and they will have STK numbers stamped on them they are quite large easy to find. The numbers will be something like STK392-110 or simallar. Let me know if you need anymore info.

you can get the Convergence ICs at you will have to look inside your set and see what the numbers on your ICs is. then just order 2 of those ICs. They are easy to find, they are located to a huge aluminum heat sink. And if you would like the service manual for your model for your set let me know and I will post a link.

I just bought a wii and I'm hooking it up to an older model tv. the inputs are on the front and there is only one audio input and one video input. I plug in the red cable in audio and I hear the music...

The yellow cable needs to go to video. The red and white are left and right speakers or stereo.Usually there is a yellow for video, the cable doesnt have to be yellow, another red or white will work.It just needs to be in the video jack or output.

You need one more cable for video. Also be sure your tv is set to the correct input for the wii to work.Possibly it may need to be on channel 3 or 4. Or if the tv is newer try component or any input available in the tvs setup menu.

Dont know how to connect to the enternet

Okay, To connect to the internet on a Wii: -You will need some kind of wireless connection -If it has a password, you will need to know that too. Assuming you have these two things, 1. Power on your Wii console and press the A Button on the Wii Remote to reach the Wii main menu. Use the Wii Remote to select the "Wii" button. 2. Now, select "Wii Settings" to access the "Wii System Settings" menu. 3. Using the arrow on the right side of the screen, scroll to the next page and select "Internet." 4. Select "Connection 1: None" 5. Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point." 6. Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds. 7. Select the wireless network that is yours 8. Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes." 9. Now, a few things can happen here:
It will either work, or it will NOT work, and you will get an error message, and you probably typed the password (if there is one) in wrong

Our sensor bar was cut so we bought a wireless sensor bar, it worked fine on our tv we had because we sit it on top. Now we have purchased a flat screen tv and have to sit it at bottom of tv now there is a...

That isn't a problem with the sensor bar. All the sensor bar is a light emitter, it has a series of infared LED's inside at varying angles. It seems that the problem lies within the radio interference between your WIii more and the Wii. Try moving your Wii away from the TV and maybe even changing the batteries in the Wii mote.

I hav a clarion auto cd/stereo displaying err 6 please explain, thank you

Error 1.Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.
Error 2.CD error message. Mechanism has as eject problem or takes a long time to select CD.
Error 3.CD error message. The pick-up is out of focus during play mode due to scratches on the disc or contamination.
Error 4.Connection problem. Reconnect the data cable.
Error 5.CD error message. Could not read correct data due to CD ROM.
Error 6.CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down.

For error code 6:
Try an original purchased cd with no scratches and see if the cd player reads it. If yes then lens is dirty or tired so try using a cleaning cd(has little brushes on it). If it doesn't read with the original cd try using the cleaning cd and if no go then look at purchasing a new cd player!

My wii has been fine but now for no reason the remotes do not sync with the system i have tried every thing

Open the battery covers on the Wii remotes.
Open the SD card slot of your Wii.
Press the red SYNC button.
Now press the red button on the Wii remote that you want to be number one.
Do this for each of the Wii remotes you have.
If this does not work try:
Holding 1 and 2 at the same time while the Wii is at the saftey screen- you should hear a click from your T.V's speakers.
If this does not work, try this: Get a hammer and smash them! :) LOL!
Try contacting Nintendo.

My wii isnt tourning on

You may need to reset your power cable. Disconnect the cables from both your Wii and the wall and TV so they are not connected to anything and let them sit for 10-15 minutes. This does what Nintendo calls a power cable reset and should fix the error and let your Wii start when you press the power button.

Can't play with 2 players

Make sure you have paired both remotes to your Wii console.
Open the little door on the front of the Wii (under the disc slot), and open the battery cover of the Wii remote (but leave the batteries in).

Push the red button on the Wii (next to the SD card slot), then push the red button on the Wii remote (next to the batteries). You should see the Wii remote's lights blink.

Do the same for your other Wii remote.

Now on the bottom row of 4 lights on the Wii remote, one should have the first light lit, and the other should have the second light lit. You should also be able to see a cursor for each remote on the Wii Menu.
