This solution did not work and the camera does not display previously stored images, however, I decided to snap several still shots with this camera. I could not see the pictures, but when I removed the scan disc and inserted it into another camera, I could view the pictures. What is the problem with the C330?

  • sharavitale Apr 26, 2010

So do I go to Best Buy and ask for a LCD screen, send it back to Kodak, or toss it. How or where do I find this LCD Screen?

    Thanks!

  • sharavitale Apr 26, 2010

Don't know. I will look for a camera repair shop and see if the camera is worth repairing or replacing.

    Thanks!

Hi,
It seems ccd image chip failure problem in your camera.
Does camera show previously stored images in memory card correctly in playback?
And does not show correct live view to take fresh picture in camera mode?
If yes, then it is ccd imager chip problem that will be replaced, please contact your local camera repair shop for ccd imager chip replacement because camera will take apart and soldering work is required to get it fixed.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

SOURCE: picture is distorted during taking a picture

Is this on the LCD screen only or on the pictures as well?

If it's on the LCD only your camera is in need of a repair.

If on both.
Please also try to upload new firmware: I doubt that it will solve the issue, but the alternative is a repair.

Connect the camera with the computer.
Turn the camera on.
Click onto the link and follow the instructions.

Red and blue ghosting,

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Picture has shadowing or ghost like images

This unit is getting distortion form the video circuits, most likely capacitors or resistors causing distortion to the input or output circuits. This problem could be caused by a bad video amplifier also ,which is distorting the signal. This problem needs to be checked with an oscilloscope to follow the signal path and find the source of the distortion. Usually this is best handled by a service center. If the unit is still under warranty call this number for Insignia customer help : 1-877-467-4289. If the unit is not under warranty, you should take it to a service center and have an estimate of the problems and repair costs. You can find parts for this television at the Best Buy parts website. Just google it and put in the number of your television and it will list all available parts and prices. You can also call this number for Best Buy parts : 1-888-237-8289. Hope this helps you with your problem.

LCD picture distortion.

This is caused by a failure of the main board. The failure causes the refresh rate of the unit to be off creating a trailing or ghost effect. This will require a technician to replace that board though. Hope this help.
