Plasma tv showing "Mode not supported" message

I have a Samsung PN58B860 TV, and I have both a Blu-ray and High Def dvd players, but when I try to play a hi-def movie, it says "Mode not supported". I have all three devices, cable box, blu-ray player, and hd dvd player, going through a Psyclone video switch. This is how I had it hooked to my last plasma TV and everything worked fine. They all go to the switch through an HDMI cable and then one HDMI goes from that switch to the TV. I have tried swapping the HDMI from the HD player into the Blu-Ray player’s port and it still doesn’t recognize it. I am not sure how to get the TV to recognize the HD DVD player. What do I need to do for make it pick up the signal? Thank you

Samsung Plasma PN58B860 works fine for about an hour that a yellow error message "Not Available" shows up in the center of the screen and won't go away or allow power off without unplugging the TV.

Do you have a program preview button i.e. one that shows details of current program and the following program. When the message appears try hitting that preview button.

Blu-ray player mode not supported

Is your TV 1080p? If the Blu-Ray is putting out 1080p and your TV only supports 720p/1080i then you will get a message like this. Try changing your settings to 720p while it is connected to a TV that does display correctly, then move it back to the 47 in LCD.

How do I connect the DVD player to a Panasonic High Def Plasma TV?

Choose connections on the Panasonic that match those on the player--

Do you have on the player Component outs(blue, green, red and 2 audio which are red and white? This ought to give you the best picture and sound.

Other inputs to the set must match the ones coming from the player--Most owner manuals have a lot of details here.

If the player has 1080 output hook to a similar input on the set.

Some advice here: make the connections between units with both turned off.

I recently bought a Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S370. The issue I have is that it will not play any DVD's on my Samsung HD TV The message "Mode not supported keeps coming up" Thanks

When you see "Mode Not Supported," hold down the "stop" button on the Bluray player for about 15 seconds and release it. This should reset the player to the lowest resolution over HDMI.

Check other Bluray player settings such as deep color, resolution etc. for conflicts.

Try to make use of the yellow video cable, the cable that is part of the RCA cable and try to set the TV to AV1 as soon as the video cable is connected from your BD player to your TV. Turn on your Bd player and you can now set the TV to its correct resolution. Best thing also to reset oyur bd player back to its factory settings.

I put a regular dvd into my blu ray player but it will not play. the player just says load and when I push the play button nothing happens. I'm using an hdmi cable and my 42 i.nch widesreen sharp tv is set...

Assuming it will play regular DVD's I'd suggest you connect it by scart also and set your TV input to scart.

I don't think DVD's carry High Def. data, that being the case, your player may auto route the data via scart.

My tv shows the message mode not supported to a new blue ray player

Make sure the Blu-Ray player is set for 720p or 1080i only as this TV will not recognize 1080p or even the 24fps mode that some Blu-Ray players have.

Check that the player is set-up in to a mode that is supported by your TV set. You should consult the user manuals of both the TV set and the player to follow through. Another solution which may be easier is to colll the Samsung service support.
